Job Purpose :- AM AM Investment is currently expanding its scope of operations. In addition to our existing focus on building construction and infrastructure, we are now extending our interventions into irrigation and water works, property administration, facility management, as well as the hotel and hospitality sectors. In the near future, we also plan to venture into the production and supply of construction materials, water well drilling, and mining activities. With these strategic objectives outlined in our five-year plan, the demand for increased human resources and organizational capacity is inevitable. To effectively implement the company’s strategic goals and ensure smooth coordination across our growing portfolio, Technical Manager for coordination and follow up work is essential. This role would closely supports the general manager in the establishment of new business units; planning, monitoring mobilizing and reallocating resources of ongoing operations; transforming strategic plans into actionable operations; overseeing business development initiatives, and prioritizing capital investments etc.

Main Duties and Responsibilities

  • Leadership & Strategic Planning
  • Develop and implement operation plans from the five year strategic plan developed in line with the objectives the company along with responsible department managers and line departments;

  • Follow policies and procedures and advice the same to all departments to follow the same;

  • Coordinate and follow the overall construction works, property administration works, Facility management activities, Hotel and Hospitality projects & services; 

  • Ensures  efficient execution of projects and programs and makes sure accurate reports of the same is being done; 

  • Coordinate with government agencies, funding bodies. and stakeholders to ensure project alignment with national and regional water policies, and

  • Ensure compliance with all government laws in the areas of the Company’s interventions.

  • Project Planning, Execution & Supervision

  • Coordinate and oversee the Planning, Design, and Execution of Construction works of all nature (Building, Road, water works and Infrastructure; Facility management and its works; Coordination and implementation of property administration works and Hotel and hospitality services). 

  • He/She shall have strong Leadership, Technical, and Project Management Skills to ensure efficient and Sustainable operations of the company and reporting of the same.

  • Oversee, follow and report all nature of studies: feasibility, site investigations, hydrological, ground water, environmental, market, etc.,

  • Direct the preparation of Engineering Designs, Technical Reports, Cost Estimates, and Work Schedules,

  • Supervise Construction Activities, ensuring Quality Control, Safety Compliance, and timely Project Completion,

  • Manage Procurement of Materials, Equipment, and Contracts, ensuring Cost-Effectiveness and Efficiency, and

  • Implement Risk Management Strategies to mitigate project delays, cost overruns, and technical challenges.

  • Align technical initiatives with organizational and project objectives.
  • Define technical vision, roadmaps, and architecture direction.

  • Establish and enforce coding, design, and engineering standards.
  • Promote best practices in design, documentation, version control, and testing.
  • Ensure compliance with industry standards, safety codes, and regulations.
  • Project Design & Review

  • Approve technical designs, schematics, and blueprints.
  • Conduct design reviews and technical audits.
  • Ensure designs are feasible, efficient, and scalable.
  • Technical Quality Assurance

  • Set up QA/QC processes for testing and validation.
  • Review deliverables for completeness, accuracy, and performance.
  • Oversee defect tracking, root cause analysis, and continuous improvement.
  • Resource and Tools Management

  • Evaluate and select technical tools, platforms, and equipment.
  • Ensure the team has access to up-to-date engineering software and hardware.
  • Plan for infrastructure needs (e.g., computing resources, labs, field kits).
  • Risk Management

  • Identify technical risks early in the project lifecycle.
  • Develop mitigation strategies and contingency plans.
  • Monitor risk indicators and adapt plans accordingly.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration

  • Liaise between engineering, product, operations, and executive teams.
  • Translate business requirements into technical specifications.
  • Facilitate cross-departmental technical alignment.
  • Technical Mentorship and Review

  • Guide engineers and technicians in solving complex problems.
  • Provide technical coaching and knowledge transfer.
  • Review and sign off on critical technical documents and calculations.
  • Engineering Documentation Control

  • Ensure proper documentation of designs, changes, decisions, and approvals.
  • Maintain version control and documentation repositories.
  • Audit engineering logs and change management records.
  • Monitoring Execution and Field Oversight

  • Conduct site visits or remote supervision of implementation.
  • Ensure engineering solutions are implemented as per design/specs.
  • Validate performance through inspections, measurements, and reports.
  • Innovation & Continuous Improvement

  • Encourage R&D and adoption of emerging technologies.
  • Promote lessons learned sessions post-project completion.
  • Optimize workflows, reduce technical debt, and streamline operations.
  • Budget and Cost Control

  • Support accurate estimation of engineering tasks and materials.
  • Track technical expenditures and support value engineering.
  • Manage scope creep from a technical perspective
  • Budgeting & Financial Management

  • Check and report and manage the department's Budget, Financial Planning, and Cost Control Strategies.

  • Oversee funding proposals, grant applications, and investment plans for Water Infrastructure Projects, and

  • Monitor Project Expenditures, ensuring optimal use of resources and adherence to financial policies.

  • Team Management & Capacity Building

  • Assess Team Capacity and Skills

  • Conduct skills audit: Identify existing competencies and skill gaps.
  • Review team workload and performance: Understand who is over/under-utilized.
  • Map team roles to project needs: Ensure each role supports business goals.

Education

  • BSc or MSc in Civil Engineering & Construction Technology Management or related.

Experience 

  • 10 years for BSc 

  • 8 years for MSc.
