Job Summary 

Ensures that preventive maintenance of plant machinery is prepared and ensures preventive maintenance are being performed as per the schedule and required standard, and spare parts are always ready for preventive and corrective maintenance, and ensures that machine history, daily activities, encountered problems spare parts requests and consumed, utility consumption are being recorded daily and anticipate and eliminate potential delays by planning and coordinating maintenance resources, parts, materials, and equipment access. The Maintenance Planner reports to the Maintenance Manager. Responsibilities include planning and coordinating all planned maintenance activities performed at the site.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

1. Operational

• Ensure that environmental safety and quality regulations are considered in all planning and execution.

• Handle long- and short-range planning. 

• Maintained bill of materials (BOM) information and history card for every asset within the area of responsibility.

• Follow a daily routine of planned and unplanned activities against the man-hour and assist with timely and quality work. 

• From the consumption trend and available machinery wear and tear parts prepare monthly, quarterly, bi-annual and annual spare part demand for local and foreign purchases. 

• Prepare and maintain a full equipment list with utility consumption and design capacity. 

• Collects monthly performance of machinery line-wise, design capacity and generates reports of deviations, identifies possible reasons and recommended solutions. 

• Checks and follows that all activities are being recorded and maintenance requisitions are initiated and properly filled on a daily basis and communicated for any gaps.

• Assure that the overall plant layout, electrical, waterline, compressed air line, and steam line drawings are prepared and are ready in the required standard and size.

• Follows purchase status and communicates for timely delivery and description of specifications and quality-related issues. 

• Develop planned work for the Weekly Work Schedule. 

• Estimate labour hours needed to perform activities.

• Involves in all maintenance activities to fill gaps and provide technical assistance 

• Prepares daily, weekly, monthly quarterly activity performance and consumption reports.

• Communicate Work Planning Package information to the Maintenance crew. 

• Inform the Maintenance Manager of abnormal or critical situations. 

• Seek the Maintenance Manager’s advice on matters outside the Planner’s knowledge or authority. 

• Review work order feedback information to improve future planning efforts. 

• Coordinate all planned maintenance and minor maintenance activities in designated facility areas. 

• Identify and develop standard work routines and task lists. 

• Identify gaps and problems in the operation system and upgrade ideas and innovations which can reduce cost, manual work, wastage and time and enhance quality and profitability.

• Analyze work order feedback and execute follow-up actions. 

• Plan shutdown-related work. 

• Prepare budgeting, tracking, and analysis.

• Prepare annual lubricant demand (type, quantity and frequency of replacement) of each machine and plan accordingly.

• Records all outsourced costs and reports monthly.

• Critically follows and checks daily inspection works and submits and discusses findings and corrective solutions.

• Prepares drawings for machining, design and modification works and outsourced orders. 

• Performs other duties as may be required by his immediate supervisor.

1. Food Safety Management System

• Periodically review all Food safety Procedures and interactions to ensure they remain current.

• Company prerequisite program and ensure that PRPs are implemented, Monitored and communicated to the appropriate parties and Periodically review PRPs.

• Implement, document, maintain and continually improve the food safety  Management System (ISO 220001:2015)

1. Environmental Management system

• Ensure compliance with the relevant requirements of local, national and international laws related to environmental standards and end client’s environmental requirements.

• Recognize and aim for continuous improvement on protection and preservation of the environment with a focus on reducing resource consumption, recycling, and reducing greenhouse gas emissions, no net deforestation)  as well as innovation to reduce environmental impact.

• Ensure reduction targets (environmental objectives) are in place for environmental aspects e.g. water consumption and discharge, waste, energy and greenhouse gas emissions.

• Determine environmental aspects and impacts and devise methods to prevent or reduce these environmental impacts.

• Retain a list of chemicals used and control them as per their material safety data sheet, and legal and client requirements. Also properly handle and manage hazardous materials and wastes.

• Use R rules (Reduce, Reuse, Recycle, Rethink, etc) to avoid or minimize discharges to water, emissions to air and disposal to land.

• Ensure sustainable use the natural resources such as water, raw materials, energy and other resources. And also accurately measures and monitors consumption (usage and waste performances) of key utilities and natural resources that follow recognized protocols or standards.

• Implement, document, maintain and continually improve the Environmental Management System (ISO 14001:2015).

• Maintaining a safe work environment in accordance with company Occupational Health

• and Safety Policies and Procedures.

• Maintain Safe, Healthy and Risk-Free Working Environment 

• Assisting in the ongoing maintenance of a safe workplace through involvement in the implementation of safe systems of work in accordance with company Occupational Health

QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED

• Education: Bachelor’s Degree in mechanical /electrical /automation/industrial /chemical and related engineering disciplines
• Experience: 4+ years ‘of Diploma and 2 years of Degree experience in the manufacturing industry.

COMPETENCIES: -      

• Knowledge in Pneumatic hydraulic and electrical schematic, piping and instrumentation diagrams interpretation.
• Skilled in AUTO CAD.
