Purpose of the job
The goal is to support the Procurement and Supply Chain Department with the procurement of items and services for Awash Wine S.C. per procurement process, demand, and time of use.
Key Responsibilities
- Have full responsibility for the procurement of raw material, packaging, and chemicals from end to end (from tendering documents preparation to purchase order).
- Ensure compliance to procurement process, payment terms, and stock transfer.
- Ensure order plan based on production and cellar capacity planning and according to budget.
- Establish and negotiate contract terms and conditions and maintain supplier relationships.
- Work with internal and external stakeholders to determine procurement needs, quality, and delivery requirements.
- Accept purchase requests from departments.
- Collect Proforma Invoices and goods, when necessary, compare offer and supplier identification.
- Prepare PO and send to vendor.
- Ensure pick-up and/or delivery of goods by communicating with warehouse.
- Ensure and follow up on FOREX approval, ensure on time delivery, and proactive and efficient clearing.
- Manage supply strategy development and cost reduction initiatives.
- Maintain reliable procurement procedure.
- Identify and evaluate new potential suppliers, collect price catalogues for standard items and develop a contractual frame to simplify and fasten procurement with agreed suppliers.
- Support Awash Wine SC Quality Department in ensuring supplier QA, material quality and in evaluating non-conformance issues.
- Perform supplier evaluations, issue quality reports to suppliers, and track/drive corrective actions.
- Maintain statistics on suppliers’ performance (OTD, after-sale service, communication, etc.) and quality log
- Processing of Procurement Request into the company’s ERP system.
- Ensure Procurement, Business, and Suppliers conduct business ethically, and within the Company's Anti Bribery and Corruption guidelines.
- Alert the leadership to any improper practice.
- Monitor Suppliers for financial and reputational risks.
- Ensure the Quality and Food Safety Policy to keep the ISO standard implementation in the company.
- The job holder is responsible to follow all SOPs and safety protocols of the company while doing his/her job.
- Attend monthly regular team meetings and share thoughts and ideas with colleagues.
- Implementing and respecting all tasks in compliance with standards and respecting all the set parameters by the system.
- Keeping records and documentations in compliance with the standards.
- Performs other related tasks as assigned by the immediate supervisor.
