Position Summary:
The Project Coordinator will play a central role in coordinating, implementing, and monitoring community-based programs and initiatives aligned with the Foundation’s mission. The ideal candidate will be passionate about social impact, fluent in Afaan Oromo (spoken and written), and able to work closely with local stakeholders in Bishoftu and surrounding communities.
Key Responsibilities:
- Coordinate day-to-day implementation of foundation projects in Bishoftu.
- Act as the primary liaison between the Foundation and community members, local health facilities, schools, and volunteers.
- Organize community outreach events, awareness campaigns, and support group activities.
- Track project progress and maintain clear documentation of activities, beneficiaries, and outcomes.
- Support planning, budgeting, and logistics for events, trainings, and workshops.
- Assist with monitoring and evaluation of programs, including conducting surveys and preparing reports.
- Ensure all communication and engagement with the community is conducted in Afaan Oromo.
- Work closely with the Foundation’s head office and provide regular updates to the leadership team.
- Help identify local needs and propose community-driven project solutions.
- Represent the values and mission of the Lydia Getaneh Foundation in all community interactions.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Social Work, Community Development, Public Health, or a related field.
- Minimum 4 years of relevant experience in local NGO, project coordination, or community engagement.
- Fluency in Afaan Oromo (spoken and written) is mandatory.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and with diverse teams.
- Knowledge of Bishoftu and the surrounding areas is an added advantage.
- Passion for cancer advocacy, women's empowerment, and community health is highly desirable.
