The Opportunity 

The post holder will coordinate the WFP/TSFP project in the respective regions and ensure that projects are implemented in target locations according to the agreements made with government signatory offices. He or she will provide hands-on guidance, support, mentoring, and coaching to frontline staff, including Coordinators, Officers, and Social Workers, to ensure the smooth and quality implementation of the project. This role involves coordinating with the Ministry of Health (MOH), WFP, and other partners to supply specialized nutritious foods and support children under five years old and pregnant or breastfeeding women who are experiencing Moderate Acute Malnutrition (MAM).

Safeguarding Children and Young People (Safeguarding) and Gender Equality and Inclusion (GEI)

  • Understands and puts into practice the responsibilities under Safeguarding and GEI policies and Plan International’s Code of Conduct (CoC), ensuring that concerns are reported and managed in accordance with the appropriate procedures.
  • Ensures that all staff in the unit/function/department are properly inducted on and understands their role in upholding Plan International’s safeguarding and GEI policies;
  • Ensures that Plan International’s global policies for Safeguarding Children and Young People and Gender Equality and Inclusion are fully embedded in day to day work.
  • Ensures that Plan Ethiopia contributes to Plan International’s global efforts to ensure safeguarding and GEI, including making sure that relevant reporting and data are submitted
  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Nutrition, Public Health, or a related field. A Master’s degree is preferred.
  • Experience: At least 7+ Years of relevant experience out of which 3 years on a senior level experience or demonstrated equivalent combination.
  • Proven experience in implementing the National Acute Malnutrition guideline.
  • Experience working with UN agencies or other international organizations is an advantage.
  • Experience in programs/projects with International NGOs.
  • Experience in programs/projects having gender equality components.
  • Experience in budget management and monitoring
  • In-depth knowledge of nutrition and health program implementation.
  • Familiarity with WFP’s guidelines and MOH’s policies on acute malnutrition.
