Founded over almost 70 years ago by pioneering surgeon Dr Catherine Hamlin and her husband Dr Reginald Hamlin, Hamlin Fistula Ethiopia is dedicated to treating Ethiopian women who have suffered the childbirth injury: obstetric fistula. Hamlin Fistula Ethiopia comprises, the Addis Ababa Fistula Hospital, five regional fistula hospitals across Ethiopia, Desta Mender Hamlin’s Rehabilitation and Reintegration Centre, the Hamlin College of Midwives and more than 90 Hamlin supported midwifery clinics.

Position Summary:

The Assistant Registrar provides administrative support to the Registrar's Office and plays a key role in maintaining student records, ensuring compliance with academic policies, and supporting the academic needs of students, faculty, and staff. This position requires attention to detail, strong communication skills, and the ability to handle sensitive information with discretion.

Key Responsibilities:

• Assist with the management of student academic records, ensuring accuracy, confidentiality, and compliance with institutional policies and regulations.

• Support the registration process, including course scheduling, enrollment, and advising students on registration procedures.

• Process transcript requests, degree audits, and certification requests in accordance with institutional policies.

• Assist in the preparation of academic reports, data analysis, and other documents related to student records.

• Work closely with academic departments, faculty, and staff to support academic planning and scheduling.

• Assist in the development and implementation of new systems or processes to improve the efficiency and accuracy of the Registrar’s Office operations.

• Handle student inquiries regarding registration, academic records, and policies.

• Assist with graduation certification and commencement planning.

• Perform other duties as assigned by the Registrar.

Required Educational level/Specialization

• BSc degree in information system, information technology, computer science or related fields

Work Experience

• 2 years of work experience in a higher education registrar's office preferred.

• Ability to handle confidential information with integrity.

• Familiarity with student information systems and office software.
