The Agriculture Officer will play a key role in implementing high-quality agricultural interventions within the humanitarian response project in Guto Gida Woredas. The role involves coordination with government bodies, agricultural clusters, and other stakeholders, with a strong focus on planning, executing, and monitoring agricultural activities in the target woredas.
Location: Guto Gida Woreda, East Wellega Zone, Oromia Region
Duration: 11 months fixed-term contract

Key Responsibilities
- Plan, implement, monitor, review, and evaluate agricultural activities
- Supervise and support community facilitators
- Develop monthly action plans and monitor progress against project goals
- Coordinate the distribution of agricultural inputs, livestock vaccination campaigns, and other agricultural interventions.
- Facilitate beneficiary selection and verification
- Organize review meetings and document best practices
- Represent HEKS/EPER in field-level coordination platforms
- Ensure reporting quality and timeliness
- Collaborate with stakeholders at the woreda and kebele levels
- Support the development of monitoring tools and project indicators
- Adhere to accountability standards and ensure transparency
- Perform other duties as assigned by the line manager
- BSc or MSc in Agriculture, Plant Science, Rural Development, Natural Resource Management, or related field
- Minimum 4 years of experience in agriculture, livestock production, or food security projects
- Field experience in emergency settings, preferably with NGOs on EHF projects
- Familiarity with livelihoods, NRM, and livestock-based emergency interventions
- Skilled in project cycle management, budgeting, and M&E
- Experience working with IDPs, returnees, and conflict-affected communities
- Experience in the East Wollega Zone is a plus
