Job Title: IT Administrator

Location: Addis Ababa, Ethiopia

Job Summary

The IT Administrator is responsible for managing and maintaining the organization’s IT infrastructure to ensure smooth and secure operations across all departments. This role includes overseeing hardware and software systems, providing technical support, and implementing cybersecurity measures. The IT Administrator plays a critical role in ensuring system reliability, data protection, and user productivity through proactive monitoring and responsive troubleshooting.

Key Responsibilities

System & Networking Administration

• Install, configure, and maintain computer hardware, software, and network systems
• Monitor system performance and troubleshoot issues to ensure optimal uptime
• Manage user accounts, access controls, and permissions across platforms
• Perform regular backups and ensure data recovery protocols are in place
• Maintain and update IT documentation, including system configurations and procedures

Security & Compliance

• Implement and manage cybersecurity measures including firewalls, antivirus, and encryption
• Ensure compliance with data protection regulations and internal IT policies
• Monitor security breaches and respond to incidents promptly

Technical Support & User Assistance

• Provide technical support to staff for hardware, software, and connectivity issues
• Train users on IT systems, tools, and best practices
• Coordinate with vendors and service providers for system upgrades and maintenance

Asset & Resource Management

• Maintain inventory of IT equipment and software licenses
• Oversee procurement and deployment of new hardware and software
• Track usage and ensure efficient allocation of IT resources

Qualifications & Experience

• Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field
• Minimum of 2–3 years of experience in IT administration or technical support
• Strong knowledge of Windows/Linux operating systems and networking fundamental
• Experience with Active Directory, Office 365, and cloudplatforms
• Familiarity with cybersecurity tools and best practices
• Proficiency in troubleshooting hardware/software issues and managing IT assets
• Excellent problem-solving and communication skills
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks
• Certifications such as CompTIA Network+, Microsoft Certified, or Cisco CCNA are a plus
