Position Summary

The IT Technician will be responsible for providing technical support, maintaining the hospital’s IT infrastructure, and ensuring the smooth operation of hardware, software, and network systems. This role involves troubleshooting technical issues, supporting end-users, and ensuring the security and efficiency of all technology systems within the hospital. The ideal candidate should have strong problem-solving skills, be detail-oriented, and capable of working in a fast-paced healthcare environment.

Main duties and Responsibility

• Install, configure, and maintain computer hardware, software, systems, networks, printers, and scanners.
• Respond promptly to service issues and support requests from hospital staff.
• Troubleshoot hardware and software problems, both on-site and remotely.
• Ensure the security of data, network access, and backup systems.
• Monitor and maintain the hospital’s IT infrastructure, including LAN/WAN connectivity.
• Set up user accounts, permissions, and passwords.
• Assist with the implementation of new applications and technologies.
• Provide technical training and support to staff on using hospital systems and devices.
• Maintain accurate records of IT assets, maintenance logs, and system documentation.
• Ensure compliance with data protection and IT security policies.
• Liaise with external vendors for repairs, upgrades, or purchasing of equipment.
• Perform regular system updates, antivirus checks, and routine maintenance.
• Provide support for medical equipment that integrates with hospital IT systems (e.g., imaging systems, patient monitoring devices)

Working Hour: The working condition will be office Hour (8 hours a day & 48 hours a week)

Salary: as per the organization pay scale.

Minimum Specification & Requirement

Educational Qualification & work experience

• Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field
• Minimum of 0 - 2 years proven experience as an IT Technician or in a related technical support role.
• Basic knowledge of computer hardware, operating systems (Windows), and common software applications.
• Familiarity with networking concepts, troubleshooting, and IT support tools is a plus.
• Internship, volunteer experience, or project work in an IT-related role will be an added advantage.
• Good communication and interpersonal skills, with a willingness to learn and adapt in a fast-paced environment.
• Experience with hospital management systems is a plus

Knowledge & skill requirements

• Basic understanding of computer hardware, software installation, and troubleshooting.
• Familiarity with operating systems such as Windows.
• Knowledge of basic networking concepts (JAVA Script, IP addressing, data analysis, C++, LAN/WAN and wireless networks).
• Ability to assist with system updates, backups, 
• Good problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Strong communication skills to effectively assist non-technical users.
• Willingness to learn new technologies and adapt to changing IT environments.
• Basic understanding of hospital information systems or electronic medical records (EMR) is a plus.
• Time management and organizational skills.
