Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly creative and skilled Animator & Video Editor to join our production team. This role involves creating animations, motion graphics, and visual effects while also editing video footage to produce engaging and high-quality educational content for the Tutor Me app, designed for Ethiopian students.

Responsibilities:

• Create animations and motion graphics to explain complex concepts visually.

• Develop storyboards and visual concepts for animated elements in videos.

• Design and animate characters, diagrams, and educational graphics to enhance learning.

• Use animation tools to generate dynamic content aligned with the curriculum.

• Collaborate with the curriculum team to ensure animations accurately represent the subject matter.

Video Editing Tasks:

• Edit video footage to produce polished, professional-grade educational content.

• Sync audio with video and incorporate animations, transitions, and effects.

• Perform color grading, noise reduction, and other post-production enhancements.

• Add captions, annotations, and subtitles to improve accessibility.

• Organize raw and edited files for efficient workflow management.

General Responsibilities:

• Work closely with subject matter experts (SMEs) to ensure content accuracy and engagement.

• Collaborate with the production team to meet deadlines and project goals.

• Maintain consistency in style, branding, and quality across all videos.

Reports to: Media Production Manager

Location: Addis Ababa

Employment Type: Full-time

Qualifications:

• Proven experience as an Animator and Video Editor, preferably in educational or media production.

• Proficiency in animation and video editing software, including: 

• Animation: Adobe after Effects, Toon Boom, Blender, or similar.

• Video Editing: Adobe Premiere Pro, Final Cut Pro, or DaVinci Resolve.

• Strong understanding of motion graphics, character animation, and visual storytelling.

• Ability to edit and animate content aligned with educational objectives.

• Knowledge of video file formats, compression, and optimization for online platforms.

Preferred Skills:

• Experience creating animations in an educational context.

• Basic knowledge of 3D animation software (e.g., Blender) is a plus.

• Ability to produce content in Ethiopian languages.

Soft Skills:

• Strong creative and problem-solving abilities.

• Excellent attention to detail and time management.

• Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.

• Flexibility and adaptability to feedback and changing project requirements.
