Key Responsibilities:
Technical Requirement Analysis: Analyze customer technical specifications and requirements outlined in tender documents. Clarify any ambiguities and ensure a thorough understanding of the technical scope.
Technical Solution Development: Develop and propose technical solutions that meet customer requirements while leveraging company products and capabilities. Collaborate with engineering and product development teams as needed.
Technical Documentation Preparation: Prepare detailed technical documentation for tender submissions, including specifications, drawings, schematics, and compliance statements. Ensure all documentation is accurate, complete, and professionally presented.
Cost Build-Up & Estimation: Develop detailed cost build-ups for tender proposals, considering all relevant factors, including materials, labour, manufacturing, logistics, and overhead. Ensure cost estimates are accurate and competitive.
Value Engineering: Identify opportunities for value engineering to optimize costs without compromising technical performance or quality.
Technical Risk Assessment: Identify and assess technical risks associated with each tender opportunity and develop mitigation strategies.
Collaboration & Communication: Work closely with the Automotive Tender Management Manager, sales team, engineering team, and other relevant departments to ensure seamless tender preparation. Communicate effectively with internal stakeholders and external partners.
Continuous Improvement: Contribute to the continuous improvement of tender processes and tools, incorporating best practices and lessons learned. Stay up-to-date with the latest automotive technologies and industry trends.
Support Tender Negotiations: Provide technical support during tender negotiations with clients, addressing any technical questions or concerns.
Maintain Technical Knowledge: Maintain and develop a deep understanding of the company's products, technologies, and manufacturing processes.
Skills & Competencies:
Technical Expertise: Deep understanding of automotive engineering principles, product specifications, and manufacturing processes.
Cost Estimation Skills: Ability to develop accurate and competitive cost estimates.
Analytical & Problem-Solving Skills: Ability to analyze complex technical requirements and develop effective solutions.
Technical Writing Skills: Excellent written communication skills, with the ability to prepare clear and concise technical documentation.
Communication & Interpersonal Skills: Ability to communicate effectively with internal stakeholders and external partners.
Collaboration & Teamwork: Ability to work effectively in a team environment.
Attention to Detail: Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
Software Proficiency: Proficient in CAD software (e.g., AutoCAD, SolidWorks) and Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
Knowledge of Automotive Standards: Familiarity with relevant automotive industry standards and regulations.

Education:
Masters/Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Automotive, Mechanical, Electrical, or related field).
Experience:
Minimum of 5/7 years of experience in automotive engineering, product development, or a related technical role.
Experience in cost estimation and technical proposal preparation is highly desirable.
Familiarity with tender processes and regulations is a plus.
