Summary

The Automotive After Sales Cost Estimator assists the Senior Cost Estimator in assessing vehicle damage, preparing basic parts and accessory lists, and estimating repair costs. This role provides an opportunity for professional development in vehicle damage assessment, cost estimation, and parts specification.

Main Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Damage Assessment: Examines damaged vehicles to determine the extent of damage, under the guidance of the Senior Cost Estimator.

  • Cost Estimation: Estimates the cost of labor and parts for routine repairs, using established guidelines and tools.

  • Parts & Accessory Listing: Prepares basic lists of required parts and accessories for repair jobs, assisting the Senior Cost Estimator.

  • Estimate Submission: Submits repair cost estimates and parts lists to the Senior Cost Estimator for review and approval.

  • Repair vs. Replacement Analysis: Participates in determining the feasibility of repair versus replacement of parts and accessories.

  • Repair vs. Market Value Evaluation: Participates in evaluating the practicality of repair versus market value payment.

  • Salvage Value Participation: Participates in determining salvage value.

  • Insurance Form Preparation: Assists in preparing insurance forms with cost estimates and parts lists, forwarding them to the Senior Cost Estimator for review.

  • Customization Cost Participation: Assists in estimating customization costs, including basic parts and accessory considerations.

  • Data Entry & Record Keeping: Maintains accurate records of cost estimates, parts lists, and related data in designated systems.

Job Specification:

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Automotive Engineering, Automotive Technology, or a related field.

  • Minimum of 2-4 years of experience in automotive damage assessment and cost estimation. (Range provided to allow for growth)

  • Basic understanding of vehicle repair procedures, parts, and accessories.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other relevant software, including basic parts cataloging tools.

  • Good communication and teamwork skills.
