The Project Follow-up Engineer serves as a critical link between project sites and the head office, ensuring timely communication, technical coordination, and operational follow-up for reporting and monitoring. The primary focus is on EPC project oversight, schedule monitoring, documentation handling, subcontractor coordination, and support in payment verification and material approvals.
Main Duties and Responsibilities:
Project Coordination & Follow-up
Act as a link between Head office with Project Engineering Head, office engineers, and site teams.
Ensure continuous communication and follow-up of technical and engineering activities at project level.
Monitor EPC project progress, schedules, and key deliverables; escalate delays or variances as needed.
Review and verify subcontractor payment requests against executed work.
Coordinate with site teams to collect, verify, and submit payment requests to the head office.
Identify, document, and follow up on project variations and change requests.
Follow up all Project Correspondence, Technical Submissions, and Communication with the Engineering teams and relevant stake holders.
Reporting & Documentation
Prepare regular progress reports, project updates, and technical documentation for the head office.
Maintain accurate logs of project communications, submittals, approvals, and pending actions.
Prepare and review project-level BOQs and QS reports, and ensure alignment with site data.
Technical Oversight & Quality Assurance
Facilitate the review and approval process of technical materials and submittals, both at site and head office levels.
Assist with material planning and ensure timely submission of technical approvals.
Support auditing of material inventories, technical compliance, and BOQ usage.
Prioritize long-lead and critical materials to ensure timely approval.
Stakeholder Communication & Relationship Management
Liaise with clients, consultants, contractors, and internal teams to ensure alignment and effective communication on project objectives and progress.
Maintain Good Relationship with Project Team Member, Consultants and External Stakeholders.
Project Scheduling & Monitoring
Assist in the development and updating of project-level schedules in coordination with site engineers.
Prepare and ensure that full work program for all projects activities, cashflow, resource schedule
Monitor milestones, critical activities, and track resource allocations at the site level.
Ensure alignment of project execution plans with head office directives and master schedules.
Compliance & Quality
Follow up on adherence to project technical specifications, quality standards, and client requirements.
Assist in ensuring proper documentation of all compliance issues, non-conformance, and resolutions.
Budgeting & Resource Management
Follow up on adherence to project technical specifications, quality standards, and client requirements.

Qualification and Experience:
Education:
A bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or Construction Management is typically required.
Experience:
Substantial experience is essential; typically, a minimum of 5 years and max of 7 years in construction project management roles, with at least a portion of that time spent in coordinator or supervisory positions. from these 2-3 years of relevant experience in Building Construction specifically finishing work.
Proven track record of consistent project delivery, quality management, and mainly technical works and resolve challenges.
Highly recommended in more Office engineering work expectance like preparation
Expertise:
Deep knowledge of engineering principles, construction methods, and materials specifications.
Proficiency in projects coordination, including scheduling, budgeting, resource allocation, and reporting.
Ability to interpret, review, and approve technical Documents, specifications, and construction documents.
Familiarity with relevant codes, standards, and regulatory requirements for construction and engineering projects.
Expertise in using engineering and project management software (e.g., AutoCAD, Microsoft Office Suite.).
Knowledge and Skills:
Strong organizational, analytical, and problem-solving abilities.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to coordinate with project office teams, clients, consultants, contractors, and internal teams.
Leadership and team management skills, including mentoring junior engineers and fostering collaboration.
Commitment to safety, quality, and continuous improvement in all aspects of project execution.
Up-to-date knowledge of industry best practices, emerging technologies, and innovative construction techniques.
