Position Title: Resident Engineer
Location:  Amhara and Afar Regions 
Employment Type: Full-Time
Experience Required: Minimum 6 (Six) Years in a Consulting Role

At-Con Engineering & Architecture Consultancy Plc., a well-established and reputable consulting company based in Addis Ababa, is engaged in the design and supervision of civil engineering works, including roads, bridges, buildings, water supply systems, and other infrastructure projects. We are seeking Two (2) qualified and experienced Resident Engineers to lead and manage construction supervision activities on-site. The ideal candidate will be responsible for ensuring that the project is executed according to design, specifications, quality standards, and contract requirements.

Key Responsibilities:

•  Lead, coordinate, and supervise all construction activities at the project site.
•  Ensure works are carried out in compliance with drawings, specifications, codes, and contractual obligations.
•  Monitor contractor’s performance, schedule, and quality of work.
•  Review and approve shop drawings, material submittals, and method statements.
•  Conduct regular site inspections and prepare progress and quality reports.
•  Manage, resolve technical issues, and site-related challenges.
•  Coordinate with clients, contractors, consultants, and stakeholders for smooth project execution.
•  Ensure adherence to safety, environmental, and quality standards.
•  Certify completed works for interim and final payments.
•  Mentor and guide site engineers, inspectors, and junior staff.

Place of Assignment:

• Amhara Region – Efrata Gidem (Alala Kebele)
• Afar Region    - Abala 

Salary: Negotiable depending on experience and qualifications

Minimum Requirements:

•  Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering (Master’s degree is an advantage).
•  Minimum 6 years of proven general professional experience. At least 4 years of experience specifically in a Resident Engineer roleor similar role in building or infrastructure projects.
•  Strong knowledge of design standards, construction practices, and contract administration.
•  Experience in FIDIC or similar contract conditions is highly desirable.
•  Proficiency in MS Office, AutoCAD, and project management software.
•  Strong leadership, decision-making, and problem-solving skills.
•  Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
•  Professional license/registration (advantageous)
