Position Title: Support Staff – Import & Liaison Officer

Department: Procurement & Logistics 

Location:  Addis Ababa

Reports To: Manager Import / Liaison

Position Summary

We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented professional to join our team as a Support Staff – Import & Liaison Officer. The successful candidate will provide critical support in coordinating import operations, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements, and maintaining effective communication with internal and external stakeholders.

Key Duties and Responsibilities

• Prepare, verify, and process all import-related documentation, including shipping documents, customs declarations, and regulatory permits.
• Liaise with suppliers, freight forwarders, shipping lines, and clearing agents to ensure the smooth and timely movement of goods.
• Act as a point of contact with relevant government authorities to facilitate permits, licenses, and other regulatory approvals.
• Monitor shipment schedules, track consignments, and provide timely updates to the procurement and logistics teams.
• Maintain comprehensive records of import transactions, correspondence, and compliance-related documents.
• Provide administrative and operational support to the procurement and logistics department as required.

Qualifications and Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Logistics & Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field (Diploma holders with significant relevant experience may also be considered).
• Minimum of 1 years’ professional experience in import, logistics, or supply chain operations.
• Sound knowledge of import/export procedures, customs regulations, and international trade documentation. Liaison /   
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint).
• Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and meet tight deadlines.
• High level of professionalism, integrity, and attention to detail.
