Who We Are

AMCOM (American Community Association) is a nonprofit organization established primarily for the benefit of United States Government employees and their eligible family members in Ethiopia.

Our Mission and Services

AMCOM is conducting activities primarily for the benefit and welfare of the employees, their family members, and other such persons of the United States Embassy in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia, as designated by the AMCOM Board of Directors. This includes but is not be limited to the operation of food services, recreation facilities, employee services, and administration of any funds acquired by the association for the common benefit of such employees, families, and other persons.

Audit Objective

• The Audit’s purpose is to conduct a financial audit of AMCOM’s financial activities for the calendar year ending December 31, 2025, as per the guidelines required by United States General Accepted Accounting Principles.
• The financial statements preparation is based on the Generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP) requirements.
• The major deliverables are to present formal and quality reports which disclose audit findings. The audit report must be submitted with in one-month period from the audit date.

Contract Period

• The audit service is initially for a one-year period with the possibility of yearly extensions for a maximum of three consecutive years.
   

Audit Requirements

• AMCOM requires an external audit service for Financial activities of the association during the year 2025.
• nterested chartered and certified audit firms, those listed with the Accounting and Auditing Firm of Ethiopia (AABE), should develop, and submit technical and financial proposals with the following information to AMCOM
• Summary of qualifications and experiences of the firm’s Audit team including a description of successfully conducting audits for other organizations using a GAAP approach
• Tax Identification number and VAT registration evidence
• Copy of renewed business license issued by the relevant Authority.
• Copy of document testifying the settlement of necessary government taxes
• List and short description of proposed audit activities
• Timeline for completing the audit work and developing and submitting a final audit document
• Financial proposal that provides details about staff, material, and other costs to complete the audit.

Evaluation Criteria

• AMCOM’s objective is to find a quality external audit service provider at a reasonable cost. Audit proposals will be evaluated on the applicant’s ability to meet the tender requirements and on a value for money assessment.
