Full timeKAKI PLC is an official dealer and assembler of ISUZU vehicle in Ethiopia. It is also engaged in different business lines including import, export, metal fabrication, after sales services, and cargo freight transport operations. The company wishes to employ a qualified professional for the Office Engineer position.
General Duties and Responsibilities:
Assist in the process of planning, managing, and monitoring engineering functions of the Building Construction Department; while maintaining company policy, procedure, laws and industry standards.
Specific Duties and Responsibilities:
In collaboration with the office engineering head, coordinate the planning process of construction projects.
Work closely with architects, engineers, drafting personnel, and surveyors for developing project plans.
Coordinate with clients, and subcontractors to discuss and determine project specifications and procedures.
Involve in the process of preparing detailed plans for projects.
Analyze technology, resource needs, and market demand, to plan and assess the feasibility of projects.
Coordinate with the office engineering head to develop policies, standards and procedures for the department and the projects.
Prepare budgets, bids, and contracts, for the approval of the office engineering head.
Assist in reviewing contract documents, and in filling out and submitting necessary permit applications.
Assist in analyzing and recommending changes to contracts and prepare necessary amendments in contract document.
Submit review reports on contract documents to the Office engineering head.
Assist the office engineering head in preparing technical and financial comparison sheets of offers received from the subcontractors, and follow up of the subcontracted works, including the payment applications.
Monitor various type of project engineering such as structural, mechanical, civil, or electrical engineering.
Check and confirm the accuracy of the work performed and the methods used by the project management.
Conduct various tests and quality assurance checks to verify the quality of completed projects.
Assist the Office engineering head in ensuring that projects are meeting specifications, and revise schedules or deadlines as necessary.
Keep accurate and detailed project records to make it easy for the project manager and clients, subcontractors etc., to access the appropriate documents.
Inspect work sites, monitor project budget and schedule and check project plans and drawings to verify authenticity of office plans.
Prepare correspondence and documents related to assigned projects.
Perform inspection and prepare documents for entire contract work projects.
Analyze and recommend contractor request for extra work payments, changes to contracts and prepare necessary amendments in the contract document.
Ensure that the site is supplied with all documentation, methods and materials needed to carry out the works.
Prepare monthly report on progress of projects.
Required Number : 1(One)
Qualification : BSc or MSc in Civil Engineering or Construction Management
Work Experience : 8 years for BSc graduate and 6 years for MSc graduate in relevant role
Required Competence :
Proven working experience in project engineering
Expert knowledge of building products, construction details and relevant rules, regulations and quality standards
Familiarity design and engineering software packages
Ability to plan and see the big picture
Computer skill, written and oral communication skills, English language proficiency
