To provide visionary leadership and strategic direction to ensure high standards of education, effective management of staff, and strong academic outcomes in line with the Cambridge curriculum and the school’s mission and values. The Principal is responsible for the overall performance of the school including academic excellence, staff development, student well-being, and parent engagement.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Academic Leadership
- Ensure effective implementation of the Cambridge Curriculum (Checkpoint, IGCSE, AS & A Levels).
- Lead curriculum planning and development across all key stages to ensure international standards.
- Monitor and evaluate teaching practices and student learning outcomes.
- Promote continuous improvement in academic standards through data-driven decisions and assessments.
- Encourage innovative teaching methodologies and use of technology.
2. School Management
- Oversee day-to-day operations of the school, ensuring compliance with policies, regulations, and international standards.
- Manage admissions, timetabling, examinations, and reporting processes.
- Ensure health, safety, and safeguarding policies are effectively implemented and adhered to.
- Monitor school budgets and ensure cost-effective resource utilization (in coordination with the finance department).
3. Staff Leadership and Development
- Recruit, lead, mentor, and appraise teaching and non-teaching staff.
- Promote a culture of professional growth through regular training, workshops, and performance reviews.
- Foster teamwork, collaboration, and a positive work culture.
4. Student Development and Welfare
- Create an inclusive, respectful, and supportive learning environment.
- Oversee the development of co-curricular and extra-curricular programs to foster holistic growth.
- Support student discipline, pastoral care, and emotional well-being.
- Ensure effective systems for student tracking and performance monitoring.
5. Parent and Community Engagement
- Maintain strong communication channels with parents through regular updates, meetings, and events.
- Represent the school to external stakeholders including the local community and educational bodies.
- Promote the school’s vision, values, and international ethos in all interactions.
6. Strategic Planning and Vision
- Develop and implement strategic plans to drive long-term growth and academic excellence.
- Lead school improvement initiatives aligned with accreditation, inspection, and Cambridge standards.
- Stay updated on global educational trends, especially within international and Cambridge school contexts.
Qualifications & Experience:
- Master’s degree in Education / Educational Leadership or equivalent (preferred).
- Cambridge International Certification in Leadership (desirable).
- Minimum 10 years of experience in education, with at least 5 years in a leadership role in an international school.
- Deep understanding of the Cambridge curriculum and global education best practices.
- Strong leadership, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
- Experience with school accreditation processes (e.g., Cambridge is a plus.)
