We are offering a project-based assignment as 

The Project


Within the GIZ Program Special Initiative " Capacity building training in tourism academy ", sequa implements the "The Tourism sector Support Scheme targeting growth orientated Tourism " project for Arba Minch area in Ethiopia. With this, sequa aims to facilitate capacity building and enhancing the job quality and creating new jobs Ethiopian Tourism sector service providers by increasing their competitiveness and quality service so that their services will satisfy the demand on local and international markets. 
Benefiting companies and professional individuals receive flexible and demand-oriented funding consulting, technical training, on areas of different section of the general topics of capacity building. A special focus will be on specialized training program which will be designed to enhance the expertise of professionals in service quality assurance, within the tourism industry. It focuses on key areas that ensure high product standards, competitive service, and effective strategies to execute flow of tourists. The support scheme is expected to contribute to the change the service delivery growth of tourism.
sequa has selected areas of the stakeholders in different levels that have direct benefit for the capacity building to improve their Service through vetting process. These stakeholders provide service including customer service and client management, Entrepreneurship skill, Sales and customer Service. The company aims to enhance service delivery and operational efficiency through professional training in the tourism academy training. sequa is seeking for high level professional expertise to conduct this training, 


The objective of this assignment designed to enhance the skills and knowledge of tour guides through training, equipping them with the necessary expertise to deliver exceptional customer service, client relationship management, in entrepreneurial mindset, Sales skill and  running business in customer Service industry in an ethical manner and develop training manual on the topics to enhance the capacity of the stakeholders engaged in the tourism sector.

Your Tasks / Responsibilities

  • The deliverable includes developing training manual, inception report, field visit conducts a three-day training for tour guides and deliver final report 
  • The expert or consultancy firm is expected to design and develop the following topics below:
  • Desired Intervention areas 
  • Identify the existing capacity and entrepreneurial ambitions of the target tour guides especially 
  • Developing an entrepreneurial mindset within the tourism sector
  • Understanding the fundamentals of tourism business
  • Strengthening sales skills relevant to guiding and tourism services
  • Enhancing customer service and client relationship management
  • Building skills in personal branding and self-marketing


Key Deliverables:

  • Inception report: outline of the methodology, training framework, timeline, and any field visit requirements.
  • Training Manual: A comprehensive, context-specific manual covering all key training modules.
  • Three-Day Training Workshop: Facilitate a practical, interactive training session for selected tour guides.
  • Final report: submit a detailed report summarizing the training process, participant feedback, outcomes, and recommendations for future capacity-building initiatives.

Your Qualification / Skills

  • Master’s degree in Entrepreneurship Tourism Management, Business Administration, Marketing, , or related fields, 
  • Experience in Tourism business development (legal, financial, marketing aspects)
  • Skill Sales techniques (upselling, B2C/B2B selling, closing deals) in customer service 


Your Working Experience

  • 5–10 years in Tourism entrepreneurship (e.g., running a tour company or experience-based tourism business)
  • Experience working with NGOs, government tourism boards, or donor-funded tourism projects
  • Experience in Sales and marketing in the tourism or hospitality industry
  • Strong communication and presentation skills in adult learning
  • Strong entrepreneurship skill and customer service
