MARKETING and OPERATIONS OFFICER for different standards (CU-Ethiopia)
Core Description
- The Marketing and Operations Officer (MOO) will be responsible for driving growth and market penetration of the company’s testing, inspection, and certification services (TIC) in Ethiopia. This position demands a balance of strategic thinking, commercial acumen, and relationship management in that it involves identifying new business opportunities, building strong client relationships, developing strategic partnerships, and ensuring that the organization is well-positioned within key industries such as agriculture and textile.
- The MOO will play a central role in expanding the client base, strengthening the company’s brand presence, increasing revenue streams, and ensuring alignment/compliance with the company’s global standards and local regulatory requirements.
- The MOO ensures the effective administration of client contracts and the smooth execution of audit field works and eventual submission of audit reports in time and with quality.
Key Responsibilities
Business Development & Growth
- Proactively identify, pursue, and close new business opportunities in priority industries.
- Design and implement go-to-market strategies that align with company growth objectives.
- Expand service penetration through cross-selling and up-selling existing TIC solutions.
- Establish and maintain a robust sales pipeline with accurate forecasting.
- Ensures that the assessment activities are offered and contracted in accordance with the CUC Procedure Manual for the schemes or programmes assigned to him/her.
- Negotiate contracts and service-level agreements (SLAs) that balance client satisfaction and company profitability.
- Preparing tender documents as needed.
- Work closely with technical and operational teams to ensure service delivery meets/exceeds client expectations.
Market Intelligence & Strategy
- Conduct ongoing market and competitor analysis, including pricing benchmarks, service gaps, and emerging trends.
- Translate market insights into strategic business proposals and new service development opportunities.
- Support the creation of annual growth plans and budgets aligned to regional objectives.
Client & Stakeholder Engagement
- Serve as the primary interface for key clients, ensuring excellent customer experience and loyalty.
- Build strong stakeholder networks with industry associations, regulators, and government agencies.
Collaboration & Internal Alignment
- Actively representing the company at industry events, conferences, and exhibitions, positioning the brand as a thought leader.
- Follows up on audit executions and reporting deadlines
- Assigns review tasks for different colleagues and monitor the execution of the review tasks
- And performs other activities as assigned by the company
- Monitoring of capacity of auditors, reviewers and certifiers on a regular basis.
Salary: Negotiable

Qualifications and Experience:
- Tertiary education (university qualification) in Agroeconomics, Marketing or Management.
- 5 years experience in Project management, operations, and contract management.
- Work in farms and agribusiness is a plus.
- Computer literate (MS Office, Outlook).
- Proficiency in understanding/listening, speaking and writing skills of the English language is a must.
- Good communication skills and professional & office discipline.
