Job Description
For Finance and Administration Officer

Job Summary:
We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Senior Accountant to join our finance team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing the company’s financial records, preparing accurate reports, ensuring compliance with accounting standards, and supporting management in financial decision-making.

Key Responsibilities:

Financial Management

  • Prepare, review, and analyze financial statements and reports.
  • Ensure that all required supporting documents and invoices are properly attached before each payment.
  • Manage general ledger, accounts payable, and receivable functions.
  • Perform monthly, quarterly, and yearly financial closing.
  • Ensure compliance with tax laws and accounting regulations.
  • Prepare payroll, reconcile bank accounts, and oversee cash flow.
  • Provide financial insights and recommendations to management.
  • Experience in online accounting and reporting to the Ethiopian Tax Authority.
  • Support internal and external audits.

Human Resource Management

  • Oversee recruitment, selection, and onboarding of employees.
  • Develop and implement HR policies and procedures.
  • Manage payroll, benefits, and staff welfare programs.
  • Monitor employee attendance, performance, and discipline.
  • Coordinate staff training and capacity-building programs.
  • Handle employee relations, grievances, and conflict resolution.
  • Ensure compliance with Ethiopian labor laws and internal regulations.
  • Maintain up-to-date employee records and HR databases.
  • Support strategic HR planning and workforce management.

Procurement

  • Plan, coordinate, and manage all procurement activities.
  • Ensure procurement processes comply with organizational and legal requirements.
  • Prepare purchase requests, solicit quotations, and evaluate supplier bids.
  • Negotiate contracts, prices, and terms with vendors.
  • Maintain an updated database of approved suppliers and vendors.
  • Monitor inventory levels and ensure timely replenishment of supplies.
  • Prepare and submit procurement reports and documentation.
  • Ensure transparency, accountability, and cost-effectiveness in all purchases.

Logistics and Fleet Management

  • Plan and coordinate transportation and distribution of goods.
  • Ensure the efficient utilization and maintenance of company vehicles.
  • Schedule and track vehicle movement to support operational needs.
  • Manage fuel usage, service schedules, and vehicle documentation.
  • Supervise drivers and logistics staff to ensure timely delivery.
  • Monitor and control logistics costs and fleet-related expenses.
  • Ensure compliance with road safety and transport regulations.
  • Maintain accurate records of vehicle logs, maintenance, and insurance.
  • Support supply chain operations to ensure smooth workflow.

Qualifications:

  • BA Degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
  • Minimum 5 years of proven experience in accounting or finance roles.
  • Strong knowledge of IFRS, tax regulations, and auditing principles.
  • Excellent skills in Microsoft Excel and accounting software (e.g., Peachtree, QuickBooks, or ERP systems).
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
  • High level of integrity and attention to detail.
