The Opportunity 

This role will be responsible to empower adolescents and youth, particularly adolescent girls and young women  to be free from  intersectional discrimination and confidently  access  friendly- gender responsive and quality  SRHR information and services  and enjoy their sexual and reproductive health rights for a project titled “safe futures: empowering adolescent girl, boy, women and men and communities to end GBV and FGM/C and expand SRHR access in Benishangul-gumuz in targeting 4 woredas(Bambasi, Homosha, Assosa town and Ura)’’, funding by the GNO. The post holder is responsible for quality delivery of results in line with pre-agreed program plans and objectives and oversees program implementation at all stages throughout the project cycle.

Safeguarding Children and Program Participants (Safeguarding) and Gender Equality and Inclusion (GEI)

  • Understands and puts into practice the responsibilities under Safeguarding and GEI policies and Plan International’s Code of Conduct (CoC), ensuring that concerns are reported and managed per the appropriate procedures.

  • Ensures that all staff in the unit/function/department are properly inducted on and understand their role in upholding Plan International’s safeguarding and GEI policies;

  • Ensures that Plan International’s global policies for Safeguarding Children and Young People and Gender Equality and Inclusion are fully embedded in day-to-day work.

  • Ensures that Plan Ethiopia contributes to Plan International’s global efforts to ensure safeguarding and GEI, including making sure that relevant reporting and data are submitted.

  • Master’s or first Degree in Reproductive Health, Social Science (Sociology, Social Work), Public Health, and other related fields 

  • Minimum of 5 years relevant experience, Out of which 3 years’ experience with NGOs.

  • Demonstrated experience on working with Adolescent SRHR, building capacities and primary healthcare system strengthening.

  • Extensive knowledge of the SRHR, SGBV, FGM, child early forced marriage, gender equality and girls’ rights in humanitarian and development programs. 

  • In-depth knowledge of project cycle management, results-based programming and adolescent, child and youth centred community development programming 

  • Knowledge of development issues, trends, challenges and opportunities and implications to community development

  • Gender analysis and gender mainstreaming skills

  • Numeracy and the ability to interpret financial data, in order to understand budgetary processes including planning, monitoring and reporting.
