The Sales Shop Head is responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of the shop, ensuring high levels of customer satisfaction, driving sales performance, managing staff, and maintaining operational efficiency. The role ensures smooth shop operations, accurate cash handling, stock management, and excellent customer service.

1. Key Duties & Responsibilities

A. Sales & Customer Service

  • Lead daily sales activities to achieve monthly and annual sales targets.
  • Ensure excellent customer service standards and handle customer complaints professionally.
  • Monitor product display, pricing, and promotions for maximum visibility and sales impact.
  • Identify customer needs and recommend additional products to increase sales.

B. Shop Operations Management

  • Supervise and coordinate all shop activities, including opening and closing procedures.
  • Ensure the shop environment is clean, safe, and well-organized.
  • Follow company policies, store SOPs, cash-handling procedures, and inventory management rules.
  • Ensure timely replenishment of products and proper stock rotation (FIFO).

C. Staff Supervision & Leadership

  • Manage sales staff, assign duties, and ensure performance standards are met.
  • Provide coaching, motivation, and on-the-job training for staff.
  • Prepare staff work schedules and manage attendance, leave, and discipline.
  • Conduct regular performance evaluations and provide feedback.

D. Inventory & Cash Management

  • Oversee stock levels, conduct periodic stock counts, and report discrepancies.
  • Verify daily cash collections, POS transactions, and sales reports.
  • Ensure accurate cash reconciliation and safe deposit procedures.
  • Coordinate with warehouse/supply chain for timely stock replenishment.

E. Reporting & Compliance

  • Prepare daily, weekly, and monthly sales performance reports.
  • Report stock shortages, fast-moving items, and non-moving items.
  • Ensure compliance with health & safety, security, and company policies.
  • Monitor competitor activities and provide market insights.

2. Qualifications & Experience

  • Degree /Diploma in Sales, Marketing, Business Management, or related field (preferred).
  • 2/4 years of experience in retail sales, shop supervision, or related positions.
  • Proven track record of achieving sales targets.
  • Experience in leading and supervising retail staff.

3. Required Skills & Competencies

  • Strong leadership and team management skills.
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills.
  • Strong sales skills and understanding of retail operations.
  • Ability to handle cash accurately and maintain financial records.
  • Good knowledge of inventory control and stock management.
  • Problem-solving, decision-making, and conflict-resolution abilities.
  • Proficient in MS Office, POS systems, and sales reporting tools.
  • Speaking Oromigna Language is Mandatory

4. Working Conditions
