Position Summary:

Bela Mart General Trading S.C. is seeking a dedicated and experienced Accountant Professional to support the company’s financial operations. 

Key Responsibilities:

1.  Maintain and update financial records, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, general ledger, and payroll.

2.  Ensure accuracy, completeness, and proper documentation of all financial transactions.

3.  Perform day-to-day bookkeeping tasks such as recording transactions, reconciling bank statements, and maintaining financial files.

4. Prepare and analyze financial statements, including income statements, balance sheets, cash flow, and budget reports.

5.  Assist in preparing budgets and forecasts; monitor performance and report variances to management.

6.  Ensure compliance with all tax regulations; prepare and file tax returns accurately and on time.

7. Support internal and external audits by providing relevant financial data and documentation.

8. Analyze financial data to identify trends and provide insights to management for decision-making.

9.  Monitor and control expenses to optimize financial performance and also manage cash flow to ensure sufficient operational liquidity

Education 

• Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting.

Qualification Requirements:

1. Minimum of 2 years of relevant work experience in private or government sectors

2. Applicants who possess additional qualification in Marketing, Management, Business Administration or advanced accounting, combined with strong office administration and proven sales skills, will be given priority consideration during the selection process.

3. Willingness to perform additional duties assigned by Management or the Board of Directors.

4. Strong auditing skills, particularly with ERCA tax systems.

5. Experience working with external auditors is an added advantage.

6. Proficiency in Peachtree, QuickBooks, and Microsoft Excel.

7. Good knowledge of Ethiopian tax laws (VAT, Withholding Tax, Payroll Tax) and IFRS.

8. Strong analytical, problem-solving, and financial reporting skills.

9. High level of integrity, confidentiality, and professionalism.

10. Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.

11.  Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.

 Applicants must be willing to travel to project and work sites outside Addis Ababa whenever required.
