Job Description: 

We are looking for a highly skilled and proactive Maintenance Technician to ensure the optimal performance of our coffee processing equipment and facilities. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in maintaining the efficiency and reliability of our production operations.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Equipment Maintenance: 

   • Perform routine inspections, preventive maintenance, and repairs on coffee processing, packaging, and auxiliary equipment 

   • Troubleshoot and diagnose mechanical, electrical, and pneumatic issues in processing machinery 

   • Conduct regular calibrations and adjustments to ensure equipment operates at peak efficiency 

   • Maintain detailed maintenance logs and equipment history records

2. Facility Maintenance: 

   • Perform general facility maintenance tasks, including plumbing, electrical work, and HVAC system upkeep 

   • Ensure the cleanliness and organization of the maintenance workshop and storage areas 

   • Assist in facility improvement projects and equipment installations

3. Preventive Maintenance Program: 

   • Develop and implement preventive maintenance schedules for all plant equipment 

   • Monitor equipment performance and recommend improvements or replacements when necessary 

   • Collaborate with production staff to schedule maintenance activities with minimal disruption to operations

4. Safety and Compliance: 

   • Adhere to all safety protocols and regulations while performing maintenance tasks 

   • Ensure all maintenance activities comply with food safety standards and regulations 

   • Participate in safety training programs and promote a culture of workplace safety

5. Inventory Management: 

   • Maintain an adequate inventory of spare parts, tools, and maintenance supplies 

   • Coordinate with procurement to order necessary parts and materials 

   • Manage tool inventory and ensure proper storage and handling of maintenance equipment

6. Documentation and Reporting: 

   • Prepare detailed maintenance reports and update equipment maintenance records 

   • Document all repair procedures and maintain technical documentation for equipment 

   • Assist in creating and updating standard operating procedures (SOPs) for maintenance tasks

7. Collaboration and Communication: 

   • Work closely with production staff to address equipment issues promptly 

   • Provide technical support and training to operators on basic equipment maintenance 

   • Communicate effectively with management regarding maintenance needs and equipment status

• Associate's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or related technical field; Bachelor's degree preferred 

• Minimum of 5 years of experience in industrial maintenance, preferably in food processing or coffee industry 

• Strong mechanical aptitude with hands-on experience in repairing and maintaining industrial equipment 

• Proficiency in reading and interpreting technical manuals, schematics, and blueprints 

• Experience with preventive maintenance programs and computerized maintenance management systems (CMMS) 

• Knowledge of electrical systems, pneumatics, hydraulics, and PLC controls 

• Familiarity with food safety regulations and Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) 

• Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work independently 

• Excellent communication and teamwork skills 

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and maintenance software applications 

• Ability to lift at least up to 50 lbs and work in various environmental conditions 

• Flexibility to work shifts, weekends, and respond to emergency calls as needed
