Job Description

Fairteam Trading PLC and Prana Events are leading providers of corporate events, exhibitions, and large-scale trade fair solutions in Ethiopia. The Operations Manager oversees centralized operational delivery across all corporate events and trade fair projects, ensuring that builds, show operations, and dismantles are executed safely, efficiently, and in full compliance with Fairteam’s SOPs.

The role consolidates all operational inputs into a Master BoQ, coordinates Warehouse Release, supervises logistics and site operations, leads contractor and skilled labor teams, and ensures high-quality, incident-free operational delivery.

Key Responsibilities

A) SOP-Driven Operational Planning & Readiness

• Develop operational plans aligned with Fairteam SOP stage-gates.

• Create integrated build/show/dismantle schedules.

• Define BOH layouts, traffic flows, loading routes, and waste management.

• Maintain risk registers and readiness compliance.

B) Master BoQ Preparation & Locking

• Consolidate BoQ inputs from all internal teams.

• Validate feasibility, inventory availability, and substitutions.

• Add logistics, labor, rental, and contingency requirements.

• Lock Master BoQ and lead variance analysis.

C) Internal Asset Control & Warehouse Release

• Convert Master BoQ into Warehouse Release Requests.

• Coordinate loading, dispatch, on-site receipt, and placement verification.

• Manage return reconciliation and loss/damage reporting.

D) Logistics & Transport Management

• Plan and supervise all event logistics and routing.

• Manage transport vendors and enforce SLAs.

• Optimize routes to reduce cost and wastage.

E) Site Build, Show-Day Ops & Dismantle

• Lead all on-site operations from pre-build to handover.

• Conduct daily stand-ups with project leads.

• Maintain live issue logs and ensure quick resolution.

F) Contractor & Skilled Labor Management

• Deploy skilled labor according to schedule.

• Direct contractors and track productivity.

• Approve variations and evaluate contractor performance.

G) HSE, Permits & Venue Compliance

• Enforce safety standards and venue compliance.

• Implement HSE plans and emergency protocols.

• Investigate incidents and near misses.

H) Resource Allocation & Shared Services

• Allocate operational resources across concurrent projects.

• Validate resource requests and identify constraints early.

I) Budget Control & Reporting

• Track operational costs against budgets.

• Deliver weekly reports and post-event operational reports.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Logistics, Engineering, Construction Management, Event Management, or related field.

• 8+ years of experience in event operations, exhibition builds, logistics, or large-scale project delivery.

• Strong experience managing site crews, contractors, and warehouse-linked assets.

• Proven track record in BoQ consolidation and operational cost control.

• Strong SOP discipline and operational planning capability.

• Advanced logistics planning and resource optimization skills.

• Excellent decision-making under pressure and strong site leadership.

• Strong safety, documentation, and reporting discipline.

• Proficiency in MS Office/Google Workspace and operational tracking tools.
