Job Purpose

To supervise and maintain all farmland irrigation systems, soil moisture and administer fertigation/chemigation systems.

Main Duties and Responsibilities:

Generic Duties 

• Sets deadlines in ways that comply with department’s plans and communicate them to subordinates,

• Organizes workflow and ensure that employees understand their duties or delegated tasks,

• Monitors employee productivity and provide constructive feedback and coaching,

Main Duties 

• Oversees and maintain all farmland irrigation systems,

• Monitors soil moisture and effectiveness of irrigation systems,

• Program, monitor and control computerized irrigation controllers,

• Manages and administer fertigation/chemigation systems,

• Leads and monitors installation and maintenance of irrigation system,

• Estimates labor requirements for jobs and review work schedules accordingly,

• Reviews work orders and schedule personnel and equipment in accordance with job requirements,

• Prepares, review, and submit timely reports to the relevant organ,

• Performs other duties assigned by the immediate supervisor.

Qualification and Skills

• BSc or MSc  in Irrigation Engineering or  Agricultural engineering or Related fields of studies.

Experience:  

• 8 years for BSc

• 6 years for MSc
