The Opportunity
The MEAL Coordinator will ensure the quality and timely implementation of the Monitoring, Evaluation, Accountability, and Learning (MEAL) framework for the Countering Harmful Practices F4B Project (2026–2030), funded by the Dutch Ministry for Foreign Affairs (MFA). This project aims to strengthen local civil society organizations to prevent and respond to harmful practices including Child, Early and Forced Marriage (CEFM), Female Genital Mutilation/Cutting (FGM/C), teenage pregnancy, and Gender-Based Violence (GBV) across Ethiopia’s Amhara, Oromia, Somali, and Afar regions.
Working closely with the Project Manager, SRH & GBV Specialist, regional coordinators, and other staff, the MEAL Coordinator will ensure that all MEAL activities align with the project’s framework, Plan International Ethiopia’s Country Strategy (2025–2029), and the broader MFA multi-country strategy implemented in Ethiopia, Kenya, and Somalia.
The role involves leading data planning, collection, analysis, reporting, and utilization while ensuring gender-transformative, inclusive, and participatory approaches. The incumbent will guarantee compliance with Plan International’s MERL policy, measure indicators in the project’s logical framework, and address data gaps. He/she will support the implementation of Community Feedback and Response Mechanisms, build MEAL technical capacity among staff and partners with a focus on Results-Based Monitoring (RBM), and promote evidence-based decision-making and organizational learning by identifying lessons learned and good practices throughout the project lifecycle. This position is critical for ensuring accountability, learning, and continuous improvement, contributing to the high-quality and impactful delivery of the F4B project.
