Reports to: Head – Battery Systems

Purpose of the Position

Serve as the technical bridge between hardware (pack, harness, sensors) and software (BMS firmware, telematics, IoT cloud platform). Ensure correct signal mapping, communication integrity, data quality, and diagnostics required for safe and optimized pack performance.

Key Responsibilities

BMS / Firmware Coordination

• Validate BMS firmware features including SOC/SOH algorithms, protection logic, and fault handling.
• Conduct integration testing: CAN communication, cell balancing behavior, contactor sequencing, insulation monitoring.
• Define CAN data files, message standards, and validation plans.

IoT / Data Systems

• Ensure high-quality data acquisition (voltage, temperature, current, GPS, alerts) for analytics.
• Debug intermittent data gaps, timestamp drift, packet loss, and logger errors.
• Collaborate with IoT/cloud teams for dashboards, OTA capability, and alert classification.

Testing & Validation

• Lead test cases involving BMS–pack interaction: OCV deviation, pack imbalance, thermal hotspot detection.
• Support root-cause analysis of SW–HW interaction faults using log analysis, CAN sniffers, and bench testing.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s in Electrical, Electronics, Mechatronics, or Embedded Systems.
• 5–8 years in BMS integration, EV diagnostics, or IoT system engineering.
• Strong CAN, embedded systems, and telemetry background.
