Job Purpose:- The Mechanization Supervisor is responsible for planning, organizing, and supervising all mechanization-related activities within the regional farm project. This includes overseeing the effective use of tractors, harvesters, and agricultural implements, ensuring timely maintenance, controlling costs, and guiding machine operators. The position plays a critical role in ensuring that mechanization contributes to productivity, efficiency, and sustainability of farm operations.

Generic Duties

• Sets deadlines in ways that comply with department’s plans and communicate them to subordinates,

• Organizes workflow and ensure that employees understand their duties or delegated tasks,

• Monitors employee productivity and provide constructive feedback and coaching,

Main Duties & responsibility

• Directs and coordinates worker activities, such as Ploughing, planting, irrigation, chemical application, harvesting, grading, etc.

• Develop daily and weekly work schedules for mechanization activities (land preparation, planting, cultivation, spraying, harvesting, etc.

• Inspects fields to determine maturity dates of crops or to estimate potential crop damage from weather,

• Oversees mechanization section operations, ensure works are done efficiently within production and quality goals meet, 

• Prepares machinery operation and farming program for the farmland and act accordingly,

• Controls and monitor farm machinery and equipment’s condition and informs the agriculture department head for any action,

•  Implement preventive and routine maintenance schedules for all machinery and equipment.

• Ensures all machineries, equipment’s and tools specifications and operator manuals documented and manage them as per the manufacturer instruction,

• Monitors all machinery operation hours record and reports, 

• Ensures employees follow health and safety regulations,

• Performs other duties assigned by the immediate supervisor

Qualification and Skills

Education

• BSc or Diploma in Agricultural Engineering or Agro-mechanic Related fields of studies.
• Having Special training on Farm Mechanization has advantageous.

Experience:

• above 5  years of relevant experience

Skills 

• Strong knowledge of agricultural machinery (tractors, harvesters, planters, sprayers, etc.)
• Ability to diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical and electrical problems
• Skill in assigning tasks and supervising mechanics/operators
• Skill in resource planning — fuel, spare parts, and maintenance schedules
