JOB DESCRIPTION

Wegagen Capital Investment Bank is seeking a dedicated and analytical Proprietary Trader to execute trades using the firm’s capital across various securities and financial instruments. The ideal candidate will be responsible for implementing trading strategies, managing proprietary positions, and ensuring compliance with regulatory and internal trading policies. This role plays a vital part in enhancing the Bank’s trading profitability and market presence.

MAIN DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Execute trading strategies for the Bank’s proprietary accounts in equities, bonds, derivatives, and other securities.

• Monitor real-time market data, economic indicators, and news to inform trading decisions.

• Ensure all trading activities comply with relevant exchange rules, market regulations, and internal risk limits.

• Maintain and manage trading positions, including hedging and risk mitigation strategies.

• Prepare daily trade reports, profit/loss statements, and performance analytics for management review.

• Collaborate with research, compliance, and risk management teams to align trading activities with Bank objectives.

• Stay updated on market trends, regulatory changes, and emerging trading technologies.

• Assist in the development and back-testing of new trading models and strategies.

• Perform other duties as assigned by the Head of Trading or designated supervisor.

Education & Certification

• BA/MA Degree in Finance, Economics, Accounting or other related fields.

• Individual dealing/trading membership issued by the applicable securities exchange or over-the-counter market is required.

Experience

• Minimum of three (3) years of post-graduation experience in the financial services industry, with a focus on trading, securities execution, or market operations.

Technical/Role-Specific Skills

• Strong knowledge of the workings of the capital market and the broader financial services industry.

• Good understanding of economic indicators, parameters, and their impact on securities pricing.

• Familiarity with relevant laws, directives, and regulations governing securities trading.

• Proficiency with trading platforms, market data tools (e.g., Bloomberg, Reuters), and order management systems.

• Ability to analyze financial statements, market reports, and trading signals.

Soft Skills

• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.

• Strong research, analytical, and problem-solving abilities.

• Ability to work under pressure and make timely decisions.

• High level of integrity, discipline, and attention to detail.

• Team-oriented with the ability to collaborate across departments.
