As the company enters a new phase of growth and organizational strengthening, Lydetco is seeking a strong, results-oriented Chief Operating Officer (COO) to lead daily operations, enhance execution, and support sustainable scale-up.

Position Overview:

The Chief Operating Officer (COO) is responsible for overseeing and optimizing the day-to-day operations of the company, ensuring alignment between strategy, people, and execution.

Reporting directly to the CEO, the COO will work closely with department heads to:

• Strengthen operational discipline
• Improve cross-functional coordination
• Drive performance, efficiency, and accountability
• Support growth initiatives across the organization

This role is best suited for a leader who thrives in execution-focused environments and can translate plans into consistent operational results.
Key Responsibilities:

Operational Leadership

• Oversee company-wide operations and ensure effective coordination across departments
• Establish clear operational processes, workflows, and reporting systems
• Identify and resolve operational bottlenecks in a timely manner
• Strategy Implementation
• Support the execution of company strategy through structured operational planning
• Translate strategic objectives into actionable departmental plans
• Monitor progress and recommend corrective actions where needed
• Team & Performance Management
• Lead, coach, and support department heads and key managers
• Foster a culture of accountability, collaboration, and continuous
• Ensure performance expectations are clear and consistently followed up

• Business Support & Growth Enablement
• Support sales, marketing, and project delivery teams to ensure smooth execution
• Improve internal systems that enable revenue growth and customer
• Strengthen internal coordination related to bids, projects, and partnerships satisfaction

Reporting & Governance

• Ensure regular operational reporting to the CEO
• Support data-informed decision-making
• Uphold compliance with company policies, regulatory requirements, and industry standards

Qualifications & Experience:

Essential

• Master’s degree in Business Administration, Engineering, Management, or a related field
• 7+ years of progressive leadership experience in operations, business
• Proven ability to lead complex operations and manage cross-functional teams effectively
• Strong organizational, decision-making, and problem-solving capabilities
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills with strong stakeholder management ability

Advantageous

• Experience in renewable energy, engineering, infrastructure, or project- based organizations
• Exposure to growth-stage, scaling, or organizational transformation environments
• Experience working within the Ethiopian business and regulatory context
