Ethio Wetlands and Natural Resources Association (EWNRA) is a non-political, non-religious, and not-for-profit Ethiopian Civil Society Organization focused on sustainable wetland and natural resource management, as well as livelihoods improvement. EWNRA, with funding from NORAD through the Development Fund of Norway, is set to implement the project "Improving Rights, Sustainable Livelihoods, and Forest Management in Southwestern Ethiopia" in Gambela, Oromia, and the Southwest Ethiopia People's Regional States. EWNRA is seeking highly qualified candidates for the following positions: 

Number of Positions:

  •  11 (One in each of the 11 woredas listed below)  

Duty Stations: 

  • Anderacha, Masha, Gesha, Bita, Sheko and Gura-Ferda within Southwest Ethiopia Peoples' Regional State, Ale, Becho, Halu and Nedhi-Nono within Oromia Regional State and Gambela within Gambela regional states 

Duties and Responsibilities: 

  • Under the supervision of the Project Coordinators; the PFM and livelihood officers will be responsible for: 

  • Support PFM institutions to implement their forest management plans and bylaws  

  • Facilitate community engagement, rights awareness, and inclusive participation (women, youth, vulnerable groups). 

  • Provide technical support and training on sustainable livelihood activities linked to forest conservation. 

  • Coordinate forest monitoring with local authorities, community institutions, and project partners at field level. 

  • Monitor, document, and report on PFM and livelihood activities, outputs, and outcomes. 

  • Ensure activities align with project objectives, donor requirements, and safeguard standards. 

Qualifications and Experience: 

Educational Requirements: 

  • B.Sc. in Forestry, Agroforestry, Natural Resource Management, Watershed Management, or a related field. 

Experience: 

  • At least 5 years of relevant experience in the areas of PFM, Participatory natural resource management, REDD+ or related operations. NGO Experience is an advantage 

Additional Requirements: 

  • Proficiency in MS Office, and other relevant software. 

  • Strong written and oral English skills for report writing and communication 

  • Strong teamwork skills, gender sensitivity, and excellent interpersonal abilities. 

  • Commitment to continuous learning and knowledge sharing.

Terms of Employment: 12-month contract, with the possibility of extension for up to two years, based on performance.
