Kadisco Paint and Adhesive Industry S.C. previously known as Kadisco Chemical Industry PLC is a privately owned company located in Addis Ababa in the Akaki Kality Industrial Zone area. Kadisco is a company that traces its origins back from a small automotive parts dealership that was operating in one of the busy streets of Addis Ababa back in late 60’s. During the period until 1975 it had the opportunity to act as the sole distributor for Sadoline Paints. In 1979 it was registered as the sole company to manufacture adhesives and glue. By stages, the company developed into a diversified paint manufacturer.
In February 2015, Asian Paints Ltd and Kadisco Paint and Adhesive Industry SC formed a joint venture for business in Ethiopia and came to be known as Kadisco Asian paints. Asian Paints is India’s leading paint company and Asia’s second largest, with a group turnover of USD 2.7 billion. The group has an enviable reputation in the corporate world for professionalism, fast track growth, and building shareholder equity. Asian Paints operates in 19 countries and has 26 paint manufacturing facilities in the world servicing consumers in over 65 countries.
Today the company produces a full range of paints for the construction, industrial and automotive sectors. It also produces wood and concrete lacquers as well as adhesives for the wood and leather industry.
Position Summary
The Executive 1 – Technology is responsible for supporting technologydriven chemical and production operations by managing formulations, process control, quality assurance, and technical systems within the manufacturing environment. The role ensures consistency, compliance, and efficiency in chemical processes through effective use of production software, laboratory methodologies, and quality control standards.
Location: Addis Ababa, Ethiopia
Reporting to: Assistant Manager - Quality Assurance
Main Duties and Responsibilities
Support chemical production processes in accordance with approved formulations, SOPs, and technology guidelines.
Manage and monitor formulations, recipes, and batch parameters through SAP, DC Software, or related production systems.
Ensure correct charging of raw materials and chemicals as per batch sheets and approved formulations.
Run and monitor production processes using digital control systems and production software. Generate, review, and maintain formulation and batch records in the system.
Conduct inprocess checks and final product inspections to ensure compliance with product specifications and quality standards.
Perform quality inspection of incoming raw materials and record results in designated systems.
Support investigation and resolution of nonconformities, deviations, and customer quality complaints related to chemical products.
Maintain accurate quality, environmental, and regulatory documentation as per internal and statutory requirements.
Ensure adherence to safety, hygiene, and quality regulations during production and laboratory activities.
Perform production, quality, and material transactions accurately in SAP or related ERP systems.
Maintain systembased records related to raw material usage, batch details, yield, wastage, and efficiency.
Generate technologybased production and quality performance reports for management review.
Record and report equipment breakdowns, process failures, and deviations in the system.
Assist in process optimization initiatives to improve product quality, reduce waste, and enhance production efficiency.
Review formulations and recommend adjustments based on raw material variability, customer requirements, or process limitations.
Support trial batches, new product development activities, and scaleup processes as required.
Collaborate with crossfunctional teams to implement continuous improvement projects.
Support operation and monitoring of DM water treatment plant (ion exchange method) and ensure chemical water quality standards are met.
Monitor availability and consumption of consumables and raise systembased requisitions when required.
Ensure proper shop floor, laboratory, and equipment hygiene is maintained.
Ensure compliance with safety legislation, company safety policies, and chemical handling guidelines.
Support implementation and enforcement of safety procedures and risk control measures.
Maintain effective communication with production, quality, stores, maintenance, and management teams.
Manage shiftbased activities including reporting, handover documentation, and manpower coordination.
Maintain confidentiality of technical data, formulations, customer information, and proprietary processes.
Report employee misconduct, incidents, or safety concerns to the appropriate authority.
Carry out any other related duties as assigned by the Operations Manager or Top Management.

Minimum Educational & Experience Requirement:
Bachelor’s degree in chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Industrial Chemistry, or a related discipline.
1–4 years of relevant experience in chemical, paint, coating, adhesive, or process manufacturing industries.
Exposure to SAP, production software, or manufacturing execution systems is highly preferred.
Strong attention to detail and excellent organizational skills.
Ability to multi-task and prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Required competence level (additional skill & behavior)
Strong technical understanding of chemical formulations, production processes, and quality control principles.
Good knowledge of manufacturing systems, ERP tools (SAP), and digital production platforms.
High level of integrity, professionalism, and adherence to ethical and safety standards.
Strong analytical, problemsolving, and troubleshooting skills.
Excellent oral and written communication skills.
Ability to coordinate with crossfunctional teams and work effectively in a shiftbased environment.
Attention to detail and commitment to data accuracy and compliance.
