Key Roles and Responsibilities

• Lead the planning, coordination, and implementation of livelihood and food security programs, research, and assessments.

• Design and implement quantitative and qualitative research tools, surveys, and analytical frameworks tailored to project objectives.

• Supervise, train, and provide technical guidance to field teams on data collection, ethical standards, and quality assurance.

• Conduct livelihood and food security assessments, market analyses, and vulnerability studies.

• Analyze data and provide evidence-based recommendations to inform project design, decision-making, and policy.

• Draft high-quality reports, technical briefs, and presentations for internal and external stakeholders.

• Monitor project progress, identify challenges, and recommend solutions for effective program delivery.

• Contribute to capacity-building initiatives for project staff, partners, and local stakeholders.

Reports to: Project Manager
Duty Station: Addis Ababa, with field travel as required

Qualifications

• PhD or MSc in Agricultural Economics, Development Economics, Food Security, Rural Development, or a related field.
• Minimum of 4 years (PhD) or 6 years (MSc) of proven professional experience in livelihood and food security research, programming, or consultancy.
• Demonstrated experience in designing and implementing livelihood, food security, or rural development programs.
• Strong analytical, research, and report-writing skills.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
