Position Summary:

The main objective of the driver is to give driving service, Administrative & Logistical support for Pharo Ventures staff. The Driver will report to the Office Coordinator.

Key Duties and Responsibilities: 

  • Drive staff and visitors to meetings, field missions, and other official duties within Addis Ababa and out of Addis Ababa.

  • Ensure safety, cleanliness, and routine maintenance of the assigned vehicle.

  • Maintain accurate vehicle logbooks and submit fuel usage reports.

  • Support the transport of goods and documents between offices and different locations where Pharo operates.

  • Conduct pre-trip checks and ensure readiness of the vehicle for long-distance travel.

  • Adhere strictly to Ethiopian traffic laws and the organization’s driving policies.

  • Provide logistical support for field activities when required.

  • Report any incidents, accidents, or mechanical issues promptly.

  • Other duties as assigned by supervisor.

Driver Qualifications & Experience

  • Secondary school education completed (preferred).
  • Auto Mechanics Level 3 certificate (preferred).
  • Good command of written and spoken English.
  • Skilled in basic vehicle repair and maintenance.
  • 5+ years’ experience as a driver with government and international organizations.
  • Experienced in operating four-wheel drive vehicles.
  • Valid Grade 3 driving license.
  • Proven ability to drive safely in terrain and mountainous areas.
