Job Summary 

The Senior Accountant is responsible for managing the financial operations of the café and restaurant business. This includes overseeing daily accounting transactions, preparing financial reports, ensuring compliance with tax and regulatory requirements, and supporting management with financial planning and decision-making. The role requires strong knowledge of the food and beverage industry’s financial processes, cost control, and inventory management.

  • Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements. 
  • Monitor revenue, expenses, and profitability of the café & restaurant. 
  • Conduct financial analysis and provide insights to management.
  • Process invoices, payments, and receipts in a timely manner. 
  • Reconcile vendor statements and resolve discrepancies. 
  • Ensure timely collection of receivables and maintain aging reports.
  • Monitor food and beverage costs to ensure profitability. 
  • Work closely with procurement to optimize supplier payments and pricing.
  • Track inventory and conduct periodic stock audits to minimize waste and losses.
  • Oversee payroll processing, including employee benefits and deductions. 
  • Ensure timely payment of VAT, income tax, and other statutory obligations. 
  • Prepare and file tax returns in compliance with regulations.
  • Manage daily cash flow and bank reconciliations.
  • Maintain accurate records of transactions and financial activities.
  • Work with banks and financial institutions for loan processing and banking needs.
  • Ensure proper documentation and financial record-keeping for audits. 
  • Implement and maintain internal controls to prevent fraud and financial mismanagement. 
  • Assist external auditors during audits and provide necessary information.
  • Assist in budgeting and forecasting activities.
  • Provide cost-saving recommendations and efficiency improvements.
  • Support management in financial decision-making.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in accounting, preferably in the food & beverage industry.
  • Strong knowledge of accounting principles, tax regulations, and financial reporting.
  • Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, ERP systems).
  • Experience in inventory and cost management in a restaurant setting.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to work under pressure.
  • Good communication and teamwork skills.
