Background

Established by the Ministry of Health of Ethiopia in 2016, IPHC-E builds on the country’s rich legacy of community based health delivery and innovation to support governments and institutions across Africa and beyond in achieving Universal Health Coverage (UHC) and delivering on the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
Through five strategic pillars—Technical Thought Partnership, Innovation and Program Incubation, Capacity Building and Learning Systems, Implementation Science, and Systems Design and Institutional Strengthening—IPHC-E works to transform PHC delivery and governance, especially in resource-limited settings.
