Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and analytical Accountant to strengthen our finance department. The ideal candidate will possess deep technical knowledge of IFRS (International Financial Reporting Standards) and will be responsible for ensuring our financial records, tax compliance, and reporting frameworks align with global standards. Preference will be given to candidates with professional experience in the petroleum and fuel distribution industry, import export, transports Service Company.

Job Requirements

Education:

• Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, or with related field of study

• Certifications: certificate in IFRS training from an authorized body (e.g., AABE or equivalent professional institution).

Experience:

• Minimum of 3 years of experience in corporate accounting.

• Proven track record in the petroleum, fuel distribution, import and export, and transportation services sectors.

Duties and Responsibilities

• IFRS Implementation & Compliance: Oversee the transition and ongoing maintenance of financial statements in full compliance with IFRS requirements.

• Financial Reporting: Lead the preparation of comprehensive financial reports, including statements of financial position, comprehensive income, and cash flows, ensuring strict adherence to accounting standards.

• Industry-Specific Accounting: Manage fuel inventory costing, volumetric reconciliation, and revenue recognition processes unique to the petroleum sector.

• Tax Management: Ensure accurate and timely filing of VAT, Withholding Tax, and Corporate Income Tax in compliance with Ethiopian tax laws.

• Audit Readiness: Serve as the primary point of contact for external auditors and regulatory bodies, providing all necessary IFRS-compliant documentation.

• General Ledger Management: Oversee end-to-end accounting processes, including complex journal entries, bank reconciliations, and trial balance reviews.
