Its work spans health, education, economic empowerment, good governance, and other development sectors, with extensive experience partnering with government institutions, communities, and development partners. In Gambella Region, LIAE has supported the HIV and broader health response for more than 15 years, building strong partnerships with government, communities, and health facilities while developing a deep understanding of the region’s unique challenges.
PROJECT 2: USG/PSI
The project is a community-based HIV prevention, case identification, testing, referral, and linkage-to-care intervention being implemented by LIA in Gambella Town. The project aims to bring essential HIV-related services closer to communities, particularly populations and locations identified as HIV service hotspots. A key component of the project is the establishment of a Community Contact Point (CCP) in Gambella Town. The CCP will serve as an accessible community-level platform for providing HIV prevention information, community-based HIV testing, early case identification, escorted referral, linkage to care and treatment, follow-up, and other appropriate support services. Overall, the project seeks to reduce barriers to HIV services, improve early identification of HIV cases, strengthen linkage to treatment and care, and increase access to HIV prevention and testing services among underserved and key populations in Gambella Town.
