THE ROLE

CAE is seeking three Duty Manager / Theatre & Events Leads to provide operational leadership across the recreational facilities. This combined role is responsible for daily facility readiness, shift management, customer escalation, and the coordination of auditorium and event operations. The role combines operational duty management with theatre and event responsibilities to ensure efficient use of resources.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Take operational responsibility for the facility during assigned shifts.
  • Complete opening and closing procedures.
  • Ensure all facilities are ready for customers, school activities, and events.
  • Conduct operational inspections and shift handovers.
  • Coordinate auditorium and event activities.
  • Coordinate event setup, breakdown, and operational requirements.
  • Manage customer escalations and complaints.
  • Coordinate with security and cleaning teams.
  • Monitor facility presentation and readiness.
  • Coordinate with AV/technical personnel during events.
  • Ensure bookings and scheduled activities are delivered as planned.
  • Manage incidents and escalate appropriately.
  • Ensure operational procedures and safety requirements are followed.
  • Coordinate staff deployment during busy periods.
  • Maintain accurate shift reports, incident reports, and handover records.
  • Support the Centre Manager in maintaining service standards.

Job Requirements

PERSON SPECIFICATION & REQUIREMENTS

Essential Qualifications & Experience

  • Bachelor's degree in Hospitality, Business Administration, Event Management, Facility Management, or a related discipline.
  • Minimum 2–3 years' relevant experience in hotel, hospitality, recreation, events, entertainment, sports, or facility operations.
  • Practical event coordination experience.
  • Strong customer-service orientation.
  • Ability to work shifts, evenings, weekends, and events.
  • Good written and verbal communication skills.
  • Calm and professional approach to incidents and customer escalations.

Desirable Attributes

  • Previous supervisory or duty-management experience preferred.
