Job Purpose
To manage plant-level human resources functions recruitment, employee records, attendance, payroll coordination, employee relations and labor-law compliance supporting a productive and compliant workforce.
Key Duties and Responsibilities
Coordinate recruitment and selection for plant vacancies, including job postings, screening, interviews and onboarding.
Maintain accurate and up-to-date personnel records, contracts and employee files.
Manage attendance, leave and overtime records for plant staff and prepare inputs for payroll processing.
Handle day-to-day employee relations matters, grievances and disciplinary processes in line with company policy and Ethiopian labor law.
Ensure the plant's HR practices comply with applicable labor law, IPDC requirements and company policy.
Coordinate employee training, induction and skills-development activities together with department supervisors.
Support performance-management processes, including appraisal scheduling and documentation.
Manage HR administrative matters such as employment contracts, work permits, ID badges and personnel documentation.
Support the Plant Manager on workforce planning, staffing levels and organizational matters.
Promote a positive workplace culture and support employee welfare and communication initiatives.
Job Requirements
Skills and Competencies
Good knowledge of labor law and HR administration processes.
Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
High level of confidentiality, integrity and organization.
Conflict-resolution and employee-relations skills.
Proficiency in MS Office and basic HR record-keeping systems.
Working Conditions
Primarily office-based at the plant, with regular interaction across all departments and occasional need to be present on the shop floor for staff-related matters.
Qualifications and Experience
BA in Human Resource Management, Business Administration, Management or a related field.
Minimum 3–5 years of HR generalist experience, ideally within a manufacturing or industrial-park environment.
Working knowledge of Ethiopian labor law and standard HR administration practices.
