INTERNAL AUDIT SPECIALIST

1. ABOUT ABAY INVESTMENT HOLDING (AIH)

Abay Investment Holding (AIH) is established as the sovereign investment arm of the Amhara Region with a broad mandate to own, manage, and grow regional public assets. AIH operates as a custodian of public wealth and a development catalyst, balancing sovereign wealth management with active commercial operations to accelerate regional economic transformation and industrialization.

2. JOB SUMMARY & PURPOSE

The Internal Audit Specialist conducts independent and objective evaluations of the financial, operational, and governance processes of AIH and its subsidiaries. The specialist ensures full compliance with international auditing standards, regional regulations, and internal policies while providing actionable recommendations to enhance transparency and accountability.

3. REMUNERATION & BENEFITS

Monthly Base Salary: ETB 45,000 – 65,000 (Gross, based on experience and qualification)

Allowances & Benefits: Housing, transport allowance, and progressive medical/life insurance coverage as per the approved AIH Compensation & Benefits Framework.

4. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES & ACCOUNTABILITIES

Audit Planning & Execution:

• • Develop and implement annual internal audit plans aligned with AIH's strategic objectives and risk profiles.
  • Perform risk-based audits to assess the adequacy and effectiveness of internal controls, financial reporting, and operational processes.
  • Ensure compliance with international auditing standards, regional regulations, and AIH internal policies.

Reporting & Corrective Follow-Up:

• • Prepare and submit comprehensive internal audit reports detailing findings, risks, and actionable recommendations for improvement.
  • Identify operational and financial gaps, recommend corrective actions, and monitor their implementation to enhance efficiency and accountability.

Governance & Subsidiary Collaboration:

• • Collaborate with subsidiary boards to communicate audit findings effectively and ensure the timely resolution of identified issues.
  • Coordinate with external auditors to align internal audit processes with external statutory requirements.
  • Promote strict adherence to AIH's code of conduct and ethical standards across all audit activities.

5. ELIGIBILITY & QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS

Education: Minimum of a University Degree (Master's or Bachelor's degree) in Accounting, Auditing, Finance, or a related field.

Experience:

• • Proven professional experience in internal auditing, financial audit, or risk-based compliance within corporate or public environments.

Core Competencies:

• • Comprehensive technical expertise in international auditing standards and financial internal controls.
  • High ethical standards, personal integrity, objectivity, and accountability.

Disqualifying Conditions: Candidates below 18 years of age, those convicted of criminal offenses involving dishonesty or fraud, or individuals previously dismissed from service for serious gross misconduct are not eligible for employment.
