Job Requirements

• Education: Bachelor's Degree in Laboratory technologist and Medical Laboratory Science field of study

• Experience: 0 year

• Quantity Required: 1

• Location: Holeta

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Perform routine and advanced diagnostic tests in clinical chemistry, hematology, parasitology, urinalysis, serology, microbiology, and immunohematology.

• Accurately analyze laboratory test results.

• Ensure timely processing of samples to support patient diagnosis and treatment.

• Collect, label, and prepare patient samples following procedures.

• Ensure proper specimen preservation, storage, and transportation.

• Implement daily quality control and quality assurance measures in line with national and international standards.

• Participate in internal and external quality assessment programs.

• Maintain detailed records of quality control and corrective actions.

• Operate, calibrate, and maintain laboratory instruments and equipment according to manufacturer guidelines.

• Report and follow up on malfunctioning equipment to ensure minimal service interruption.

• Comply with laboratory safety regulations and infection prevention and control (IPC) protocols.

• Properly manage biohazardous waste and chemical disposal.

• Maintain accurate and organized records of test results, logs, and laboratory reports.

• Assist in preparing laboratory performance reports and statistics for management and regulatory bodies.

• Collaborate with doctors, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to improve service delivery.

• Support the training and mentoring of laboratory interns or newly assigned staff.

• Participate in continuing professional development and hospital-wide initiatives.
