Position 1: Legal Counsel
Job Title: Legal Counsel
Department: Legal & Contracts
Reports To: Legal & Contracts Manager
Location: Addis Ababa with periodic travel to the plant
Required No: 1
Position Purpose:
Provides legal advice and opinions, assesses and mitigates legal risks, and supports the Company in legal and contractual matters. The position holder is responsible for contract drafting, review, negotiation, filing, and administration, while ensuring legal compliance and protection of the Company's interests.
Key Responsibilities:
Provide legal advice and opinions on legal, Commercial, operational, and Tax matters.
Identify, assess, and advise on legal risks and appropriate mitigation measures.
Draft, review, revise, and negotiate contracts and other legal documents.
Ensure proper filing, recording, and monitoring of contracts and key contractual obligations.
Provide legal support for business functions on operational and commercial matters.
Support the Company in litigation, arbitration, mediation, and other dispute-resolution matters.
Conduct legal research and monitor relevant legal and regulatory developments.
Prepare legal opinions, memoranda, reports, risk assessments, and other legal documentation.
Participate in negotiations, meetings, committees, and business initiatives requiring legal support.
Support the Company in implementing policies, procedures, and internal controls.
Job Requirements
Required Minimum Qualifications:
LLB/LLM with 2-3 years of relevant experience, preferably in the FMCG (Beer & Beverage) industry
