Job Title : Mechanic

Duty Station: Kombolcha, S/Wollo, Amhara Region

Duration: 7 consecutive working days from the date of vacancy announcement.

Job Summary

Maintains production machinery and equipment to ensure safe, reliable, and efficient factory operations. The mechanic performs preventive maintenance, diagnoses mechanical faults, carries out repairs, and minimizes production downtime.

Key Duties and Responsibilities

• Primary responsibilities include:

• Inspect, maintain, and repair cork-processing and production machinery.

• Troubleshoot mechanical problems and identify the causes of equipment failures.

• Perform preventive and routine maintenance according to maintenance schedules.

• Repair or replace bearings, belts, chains, gears, shafts, rollers, pumps, valves, and other mechanical components.

• Lubricate machinery and check alignment, vibration, and operating conditions.

• Install and adjust new machines and mechanical equipment.

• Respond quickly to machine breakdowns and production emergencies.

• Use hand tools, power tools, measuring instruments, welding equipment, and other workshop equipment safely.

• Maintain maintenance records and report equipment problems to supervisors.

• Work with electricians and production operators when diagnosing equipment faults.

• Follow workplace safety procedures, including lockout/tag out requirements.

• Keep the maintenance workshop and work areas clean and organized.

About the Candidate

Qualifications Required

Education

• BSc / Advance Diploma in Mechanical/General Mechanics or related field of study.

Experience

• 2 years for BSc or 6 years for Advance Diploma, relevant work experience in the manufacturing industry.
