Job Summary

We are hiring an Optometrist to perform eye examinations, diagnose and manage ocular conditions, and prescribe corrective lenses vision problems and eye diseases, prescribe glasses and contact lenses, and educate patients on eye health.

Job Requirements

Education:

• Doctor of Optometry Degree or with related field of study from an accredited optometry institute

• TPA certification is preferred

Experience:

• 0–2 years of experience

• Previous experience in a clinical setting is an advantage.

Location: Jimma

Duties and Responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive eye examinations and vision assessments.

• Diagnose and manage vision problems and eye conditions.

• Prescribe eyeglasses and contact lenses.

• Provide eye health education and preventive care advice.

• Monitor patient eye health and provide follow-up care.

• Maintain accurate patient records and documentation.

Skills & Competencies

• Strong clinical, communication and interpersonal skills

• Ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment.

• Multi lingual, (Oromiffa, Amharic, English etc.)
