Current Telecom Service Engagements

Scope
Safaricom Ethiopia – Afdera–Mekelle Fiber Maintenance
Approximately 230 km of fiber infrastructure, including fault identification, troubleshooting, preventive maintenance, restoration, emergency response, inspection and operational monitoring.
Huawei Technologies – Field Maintenance Service
Five Tigray clusters: Mekelle, Abala, Maichew–Alamata, Adigrat and Axum, covering field maintenance (active, passive and Optical fiber) and technical support across the respective service areas.
These service engagements require technically competent, safety-conscious and field-oriented personnel who can respond quickly to faults, maintain accurate technical records, coordinate with clients and NOC/operations teams, and uphold Passion Technologies' standards for quality, safety, compliance and operational reliability.

Key Responsibilities
Conduct fiber route inspections and preventive/corrective maintenance along assigned OSP routes.
Identify, localize and repair fiber cuts and connectivity faults.
Perform OTDR, optical-power and related fiber tests and interpret results.
Perform fiber splicing, termination, jointing and restoration as required.
Support emergency outage response and timely restoration.
Maintain ducts, handholes, poles, cabinets and associated OSP infrastructure.
Maintain route records, test results, as-built information, outage reports and maintenance documentation.
Protect network routes and identify risks that may affect service continuity.
Follow technical standards and HSEQ requirements during all field activities.
Job Requirements
Qualifications & Experience
BSc degree or diploma in Telecommunications, Electrical Engineering, Electronics, Civil Engineering or related field.
Minimum two (2) years of relevant OSP/fiber construction or maintenance experience.
Practical knowledge of OTDR, optical-power measurement, splicing, termination, jointing, fault localization and restoration.
Ability to work in remote routes and respond to emergency maintenance requirements.
Strong problem-solving and communication skills.
Willingness to travel and work across Ethiopia.
Electrical safety, first-aid, fire-safety or related certification is preferred.
