Location: Addis Ababa, Ethiopia, with occasional domestic travel

Position Summary: The Project Associate will be responsible for supporting all projects at MMI by providing logistic support, facilitating technical efforts, projects, and activities under the direct supervision of the Project Manager in collaboration with authorized staff. This opportunity is ideal for new graduates interested in working in data management, analytics and information management through media development and contributing towards a vibrant media space in Ethiopia while building professional project management skills.
Key Responsibilities
Support project planning, implementation, coordination, and tracking in collaboration with the Project Manager.
Support the development, maintenance, and regular updating of project databases, and information systems.
Collect, organize, classify, digitize, and maintain data generated or sourced through project activities.
Maintain and update data repositories, ensuring data is accurate, well-structured, accessible, and regularly refreshed.
Track project activities, outputs, targets, and progress using appropriate data management and tracking tools.
Support the collection, compilation, cleaning, and verification of data from field teams, partners, and other sources.
Support data analysis, visualization, and preparation of data summaries to inform project planning, implementation, reporting, and decision-making.
Organize and coordinate project meetings, workshops, trainings, stakeholder meetings, and other events.
Prepare meeting agendas, minutes, action points, correspondence, and other project-related documents.
Coordinate travel, accommodation, transportation, field movements, and event logistics for project staff and participants.
Support project procurement processes, including preparation of ToRs, collection of quotations, bid evaluation, and related documentation.
Maintain organized project files, contracts, official records, resources, and digital archives.
Support project budgeting, field advances, payment documentation, and expense settlement processes.
Assist in preparing project progress reports, donor updates, and other reporting and documentation requirements.
Coordinate communication with partner organizations, civil society organizations, government offices, community stakeholders, and other relevant actors.
Support other project-related activities as needed.
Job Requirements
Required Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree on Data Science, Computer Science, Information Science, Statistics, Law, Social Studies or related field of study
0 - 1 years working experience
Exceptional verbal, written, and presentation skills
Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team
Experience using computers for a variety of tasks
Competency in Microsoft applications including Word, Excel, and Power-point or Google Suite
Knowledge of documentation and other administrative procedures.
Skills & Competencies
Skills on collection, organization, classification, and digitization of data generated or sourced through project activities, ensuring it is systematically stored and easily retrievable.
Maintain and regularly update data repositories and databases, ensuring that information remains accurate, current, well-structured, and accessible to relevant users.
Support data access and dissemination by organizing information in user-friendly formats and developing basic systems, tools, or mechanisms that facilitate data retrieval and use.
Knowledge of social media monitoring and analytics.
Strong competencies in planning, organizing, project implementation, resilience, and drive.
Exceptional verbal, written, and presentation skills.
Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
Experience using computers for a variety of tasks.
Competency in Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) or Google Suite.
Avid learner who thrives under pressure.
Self-starter, independent, collaborator, with strong leadership qualities and a track record of getting things done.
