Recruitment Announcement for Project Coordinator
for the KOICA Project in Ethiopia
A. Overview
KOICA Project – Ethiopian National Quality Management Capacity Enhancement Project for Agricultural and Processed Agricultural Product Competitiveness Improvement
Organization: Korea Testing Certification Institute (KTC)
Duty Station: Addis Ababa, Ethiopia (based on MoTRI, EMI, IES, EAS, ECAE)
Contract Period: one (1) year, renewable based on satisfactory performance and project needs
Expected Start Date: As soon as possible
B. Position: Project Coordinator
The objective of this assignment is to support the effective implementation, coordination, monitoring, and administration of the KOICA-funded project.
C. Scope of Tasks (Job description)
Project Coordination
Coordinate project activities with MoTRI, EMI, IES, EAS, ECAE, and other relevant institutions.
Arrange meetings, workshops, missions, and official events.
Coordinate schedules for Korean experts and Ethiopian counterparts.
Facilitate communication among project stakeholders.
Administrative Support
Prepare official correspondence, Invitation letters, and project documents.
Maintain project records and filing systems.
Support logistical arrangements for expert missions, workshops, and training programs.
Assist in administrative procedures required for project implementation.
Monitoring and Reporting
Monitor implementation progress of project activities.
Collect and consolidate implementation data from partner institutions.
Prepare monthly activity reports and progress summaries.
Support monitoring of project performance indicators.
Stakeholder Coordination
Serve as the primary liaison between the Ministry, KTC and other partner institutions for the effective implementation of the project
Coordinate communication with focal persons from MoTRI, EMI, IES, EAS, ECAE, and other stakeholders.
Facilitate timely collection of requested information and documentation.
5. Joint Coordinating Committee (JCC) and Technical Committee Support
Assist in organizing Joint Coordinating Committee and the Joint Technical committee meetings.
Prepare agendas, meeting materials, and minutes.
Follow up on agreed action items.
6. Translation and Interpretation Support
Provide English-Amharic interpretation when required.
Translate official documents and correspondence between English and Amharic.
Facilitate communication during meetings and technical discussions.
7. Project Monitoring and Data Management
Maintain project databases and documentation.
Organize project information and supporting evidence for reporting.
Track project schedules and implementation status.
8. Management of work performance for Technical Project Assistant and Administrative Assistant
Giving specific work instructions and verifying the performance results regarding the Administrative Assistant's work performance.
Giving specific work instructions and verifying the performance results regarding the Technical Assistant’s work performance.
9. Other Duties
Perform additional assignments necessary for the successful implementation of the project.
Support KOICA monitoring missions, external evaluations, and audits when required
Job Requirements
Education
Bachelor's degree or higher in Business Administration, International Development, Public Administration, Economics, Engineering, Food Science and Technology, Food Engineering or other relevant fields.
Experience
Minimum five (8) years for Master of Science or for Bachelor’s ten (10) years of professional experience in quality management works
Experience coordinating donor-funded projects.
Experience working with Ethiopian government institutions, specifically in quality enhancement.
Experience supporting project implementation, coordination, monitoring, and reporting.
Preferred Experience
Experience in National Quality Infrastructure (NQI) projects.
Experience working with MoTRI or NQI institutions.
Experience supporting KOICA or other international development projects.
Experience in institutional capacity building, public-private dialogue, and trade-related reforms are in advantage.
Language Requirements
Fluency in English
E. Contract Period
The assignment shall be for one (1) year, renewable based on satisfactory performance, project requirements, and budget availability.
Probation Period: Sixty (60) days from the date of hire. If work performance during the probation period does not meet the required standards, the contract may be terminated in accordance with applicable laws and regulations.
F. Payment
The Project Coordinator will receive a gross monthly salary of USD 700 payable in Ethiopian Birr (ETB) based on the official exchange rate applicable at the time of payment.
*The Employee shall be responsible for paying all applicable taxes on the income received under this agreement
